Dropped me a bunch of Lemon Pepper chicken wings on the grill after a nice ride in the mountains.

^^Looking tasty Stumps. I have not had lemon pepper chicken for years I think.

It was BBQ time down under this arvo too, but this Kenyan Kikuyu lady was sporting a spectacular hairdo that she did not want to get smoky so the Q was banished to far corner while it settled down and I rustled up my leafy green caesar and some melon for an alternative entree.

She is a fashion aficionada and had colour-matched her toenails to her trousers

With the BBQ settled it was declared OK to proceed with the snagalicious main course

    Slow grilled for maximum smokiness

She was sporting an epic ring that had been fashioned from a tiny antique fork by a Kenyan silversmith. She having just returned from a family Christmas knees-up in the homeland and still recovering from jetlag.

She came bearing gifts from the homeland in the form of a Kenyan tea selection box which I will peruse and partake of with pleasure.

And as the waning gibbous moon rose behind a veil of clouds the brew was finally brought to the boil.

Pretty sure the equivalent of a few purple persuaders allows any old joe to ‘pull off’ most anything.

A lack of decent steaks in London and seeing a few pics of others sent me to fire up the Barbie and whack a couple of decent T-bones on the grill.

Start by seasoning them for an hour or two.

The BBQing, Grillin, Smoking Mega Thread-img_2148-jpeg

Whack them on the grill and also decided to grill a few Brussels sprouts (they taste good in the oven, so why not over fire?), in prepped them by blanching first, then grill to crisp up the outsides, coat in butter and salt afterwards.

    10 mins later.

The BBQing, Grillin, Smoking Mega Thread-img_2150-jpeg

And the moment of truth. Tasted alright.

Like many Brits, I'm not really into steak as I find that the flavour just isn't sufficiently bold so as to satisfy my advanced English palate.

However, I treated the folks to a meal on New Year's Eve in some hilltop pub with gale force winds gusting around us as we got there and decided to treat myself (and my long suffering wife), to a chateaubriand.

The finest British meat, perfectly cooked, which fell apart in the mouth.

Seventy five English pounds for 450 grammes. I'm happy to spend good money on good food and it was very pleasant, but it was no curry at the end of the day.

Conclusion: steak is still wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overrated by our Aussie and Yank chums.

    I'm on catch up.

I like to have a break from wind ups and shitfests on TD when on my jollies.

When I sent that photo of the steak to Chits, he replied with a shopping trolly full of yellow-stickered meat 3 minutes before the supermarket closed.

What kind of bonehead pays 75 quid for something that takes less effort and time to cook than a fuckin Pot Noodle?

The wife came home with a couple of racks of ribs last night. So got them out, trimmed off the silverside and got the rub on them. Wrapped in foil and will be barbecued tomorrow. I will update.
