Today was set aside for a grill some steaks day.

start with a good season.

Prepare a chimichurri sauce. Added a bit of chilli powder this time.



Love the anticipation of lighting the coals knowing you’ll have an excellent feed soon.

Made a couple of Moscow mules. but us poor teacher types cannot afford copper mugs.




cranked the tunes



but then I got word that a truckload of crayfish was on the way…

What a messy looking plate, bet it all tasted good though apart from those horrible baby cabbages.

Fired up the smoker this morning…and with the magic of time produced these…





Then smoother in a homemade onion gravy.

I try and avoid this thread currently as I am on business travel until the end of the month and haven't fired up my grill in near a month now.

Food looks great as always.

I have eaten Brussels sprouts on occasions and if properly prepared they aren't too bad but nothing I would cook on my own because I wanted them. Same with cabbage. Just not a veggie I prefer.

Apparently this was brisket. Grilled and then covered got 5 hours.

tested amazing, just melt in your mouth. Almost like beef burnt ends.

limited options of drinks yesterday but at 5.5% brewed here in South Africa was quite acceptable.

Too damn long, that's for sure. Been here since May 6th. I was bouncing off the walls in about 5 says. View at 31st floor is pleasant. Noise when I open the sliding glass door is awful. Balcony a saving grace.

Yeah look forward to getting home. Wife says our youngest lab walks all around looking for me with the ball in her mouth thinking I am hiding from her.

Grill probably has spiderwebs which is shameful.

A BBQ can cook more than just meat. Decided to make a side dish this arvo.
Started by heating a clove and a half of garlic in olive oil & rosemary.


mash with a heap of basil leaves.



Spread on a toasted french roll



drizzle the oil on top and add some sliced tomatoes, pepper, salt, & Parmesan.
