See the debate rumbles on. This seemed helpful:

This is a list of notable sandwiches. In American English, a sandwich is understood to be a dish consisting of two or more pieces of bread with one or more fillings between them,[1][2][3] or one slice in the case of an open sandwich; however, in British English (and some other national English varieties), the definition of sandwich is narrower, requiring a sandwich to be made with bread sliced from a loaf, not other forms of bread such as rolls, buns, bagels or muffins.[4]
    List of sandwiches - Wikipedia

    The list does contain "hamburger".

So, for Americans a burger is a type of sandwich, but for Brits it is not. That being said, I have never in my entire life heard anyone, American or other refer to a burger as a "sandwich".

^ Thank you Nid, for keeping this tread on topic.

But as an aside, and I'm not entertaining this slur for one minute, how would a woman reveal her 'burger' while her legs were close together?

An obvious piece of fake news.

So in his post above, you want to argue about the name but not deny the event took place!

Too much talk of burgers, had to get a delivery from my favourite joint and decided to try their Sliders for the first time. Won't be the last time either, bloody lovely they were

    They do look good.

Fresh lettuce is almost unheard of in a Thai 'sandwich' but there it is.

For me it is too. To be honest, they normally overcook it a little for my taste and it's crispy but the Thai lady who owns the restaurant lived in Texas for years so that's where the well-done bacon came from. Had never tried her homemade burger sauce before that she only uses on Sliders but will be requesting it on full size burgers in the future, delicious!

Maybe where you live, nice fresh lettuce is available everywhere here all year round though and any sandwiches or burgers that should have it do have it.

Fair question DavidOu812, the answer is probably neither

No kidding since he wrote this an hour and a half before me.

A comeback yes, but worthy of a snide comment, no.

Where did your sense of humor go?

Best stay out of burgers twice in the last 3 days I have been called out on burger jokes.

I've just had a flattened double meat-ball bap with cheese. Not bad.

Or was it a double flattened meat-ball bap with cheese?
