Those trifles had me licking my lips, haven't had a decent one since my mum died.

Anyway, I decided to do a fruit flan for the children at Christmas. I suppose I should call it an Obstboden, since the flan pan came from Germany, as did the Tortenguss.

The sponge turned out okay, could have been a bit lighter but the children were happy enough. I used nutella to seal the sponge before adding the fruit, can use angel delight as well if you like. I will do the same for New Year, but add some whipped cream if I can find a piping bag.
