It is a beautiful part of the country, and the further towards the border one goes, the better it gets. Crowded with BKK Thais at weekends, it is better during the week.

I have driven past that resort, and it certainly is an eyesore, as are a few others. There seems to be little in the way of planning regulations that ensures that the architecture is in harmony with the surroundings.
