We should have started adapting by ditching carbon based fuels and pollutants over 30 years ago. It's a case of blind following the greedy to squeeze the last profit they can out of carbon resources before shifting to new cleaner technologies. It doesn't bother the richest 1% if 70+% of the proles die off now does it.
