Bartlett asserted that it was a bigger problem for conservatives than liberals because they did not have their own network for a long time, and then they “drank very heavily from the Fox waters.”

The conservatives I know who watch Fox News also watch the alternative cable news channels to catch up on how far out of touch these alternative channels are from reality.

No wonder Hairy Backaruda watches Fox News. Gets the real story there, eh?

Despite an insanely busy news month (Baltimore riots, Amtrak crash) that saw double digit ratings increases at CNN and Fox News, MSNBC collapsed a full -14% over this same time last year in both total and demo (25-54 years of age) viewers. May was the worst month MSNBC has had since December of 2007.

Here’s MSNBC’s monthly average:

Primetime (Mon-Sun):463,000 total viewers / 125,000 A25-54

Total Day Mon-Sun): 299,000 total viewers / 83,000 A25-54

Though CNN’s ratings jumped more than +50% over this same time last year, the left-wing Hate Network only looks good compared to its own dismal 2014 performance and that of MSNBC.

Here’s CNN’s May averages:

Primetime (Mon-Sun): 586,000 Total Viewers / 219,000 A25-54

Total Day (Mon-Sun): 440,000 Total Viewers / 145,000K A25-54

Nevertheless, despite MSNBC’s 8 year collapse, “Morning Joe,” Rachel Maddow and “Hardball” still beat CNN in total viewers last month.

CNN chief Jeff Zucker intentionally moved CNN to the hard-left (relentless anti-cop/anti-Christian hate campaigns, etc.) in the obvious hope of stealing MSNBC’s viewers. That’s working to a point but Zucker still has to play a Bond villain and use the power of his network to intentionally stir up riots in poor, black neighborhoods in order to fail a little less.

As usual, and for the gajillionth month in a row, Fox News nearly crushed MSNBC and CNN combined in both total and demo viewers.

Primetime (Mon-Sun): 1,612,000 total viewers / 314,000 A25-54

Total Day (Mon-Sun): 982,000 total viewers / 194,000 A25-54

May once again proved the legions of dishonest Fox News critics wrong. All this talk about Fox being burdened with primarily older viewers who will eventually die off doesn’t hold up to the science. During primetime, Fox’s 25-54 demo viewers jumped an incredible +42%.

In all of cable last month, Fox News came in 4th.

MSNBC and CNN respectively thudded into 30th and 20th place.

When you create a news outlet that provides the news this outlet doesn't do all that well in polls of popularity or devotion - but those should not be the goals of anyone running a news outlet.

If you instead create an entertainment network that tells bigots and others of low mental status the things they want to hear, regardless of the facts or reality of the situation, and pretend to be a news outlet while doing so, you will be far more profitable.

Fox News is an Entertainment channel. Officially, by their own declaration.

If you want to build yourself a high horse out of ratings, you'd better start comparing Fox News to its actual competition- entertainment channels.
