Personal Attacks By Moderators

SK,

Let me tell you honestly, you are confusing the man with the job here.
I don't agree with a lot of his posts, some are even immflamatory, but, the thing is, he's posting as poster Stroller, and he has every right to his opinion, just like every other poster.

I was recently asked to be a moderator, and much to everyones surprise, I accepted. I've been wondering if I made the right decision. Seems I've joined in "interesting times".
Frankly, from what I've seen, the problem isn't with the moderation. Posts in the issues section heve been getting more and more incendiary, as have the new threads being started.
Another side-effect is that some good posters are staying away. This limits the number and views in discussion in any thread until you have two polarized camps who then stir each other up. Things have got nasty.
I've been really surprised at the restraint the moderators have shown.
Maybe its time to examine instances of when we were part of the problem and not the solution. I know I've been guilty of it.

Sir Burr,

If my posts and my opinions are causing other posters to stay away from this forum then I should be banned. If that's the case then I'll accept that. And you have my word that I will not re-register under another posting nick.

In regards to stroller ... I think many of my fellow posters are misinterpreting my words. I don't have a problem with stroller's opinion or his right to express them. I have a problem with and the opinion that he lets his personal opinions be ruled by his emotions ... which he allows to influence his realtions with other posts. He can post some pretty nasty comments on other people's repos that the public doesn't see.

I told him long ago that when he sees fit to delete my posts ... to just do it. No need to PM me or explain. I don't want to hear about it and usually don't even notice. There are other posters he makes even more vile comments to on their repos.

Long ago I realized you just can't get along with everybody. I'm cool with that. My opinion of stroller is set in stone.

Fair enough SK, you have your right to an opinion, and its obvious there are a lot of things I don't know.
Your little spat with Stroller is just a tiny part of the problem.
The real problem, is that no matter what our personal opinions on other posters were, we used to remain fairly civil to each other. That quality is almost gone and its a crying shame.

No need to PM me or explain. I don't want to hear about it and usually don't even notice. There are other posters he makes even more vile comments to on their repos.

Let's not mix up pms with repos, they are different, if I inform abot mod action, my pms are polite.

Anyway, a few people have complained about the repos I give, it is true that I get emotional. I'll revise this practice.

Thank you, SK. "Banning" you is not on the cards at all, since you are responsive and willing to adjust. We don't like each other, but I am not as delusional not to recognise your qualities.

If this forum was going to hell in a hand basket recently ... then why did CMN recruit Kerux to start posting over here ? CMN is my buddy but I think that's a reasonable question since CMN is also a mod, right ? I mean ... nobody who has ever read Kerux posts over on ajarn could possibly think he would come here and start posting differently. He's too strong willed. Also, sometimes some of us who have been bantering back and forth for a couple of years now occasionally try to tweak each other.

Also more food for thought ... the current trend for some of my fellow bored posters is to register new posting nicks ... there's always a new twist happening in cyber land. Some of thes guys have so many posting nicks it's easy to be having a posting conversation with 4 or 5 other posters and not even know the other 4 are all the same guy.

i didn't actually set out to recruit him, not actively anyway.
i simply suggested to him that the thread of his that was deleted on ajarn would have been welcome on TD.
He restricts himself mainly to his own threads about the Bible and 9/11 and as such doesn't bother me overly.

As a mod, shouldn't you be concerned whether he, or rather his posts, are 'bothering' other posters?
You may also want to have a look at the general change of tone and posting quality in the forum over the last couple of weeks?

DD is an ajarn forum poster. I don't have to rat people out. DD knows exactly how this multiple nick thing works.

I've been suspecting this, it is being investigated, also at least one arrival from another forum I used to post on.

I take the view that most people see him as some sort of circus clown.

Is it too late to start talking shit about CMN, Milkman and Marmite? I'd like to know who all the moderators are so that I can try to piss on or piss off every single one of them. Is IM still a Mod ? Maybe I could giver a little golden shower ? Is Random a mod here now also ?

Just for the edification of my fellow posters ... some who might think I'm supporting Kerux ... which to a degree is true ... Kerux and I did not ever exactly get along over on Ajarn either. I thought and still think he's a blowhard in the same mold as raycarey ... there isn't any difference at all between the two of them and their posting except kerux doesn't post stuff that his opponents agree with. He gets the best of most of us nearly all the time. And I still think he's a manifestation of MR SNAFU.
