IMHO the establishment of a Jewish nation was pretty much inevitable based upon the nations with the power back then. In late 1917 via the Balfour Declaration the UK basically said there will be a Jewish nation in Palestine. The establishment of a Jewish nation became almost inevitable after the end of WWI when the League of Nations granted control over the British Mandate of Palestine to the British. This was beofre the holocaust and while I would agree that the holocaust was at the forefront of peoples minds when Israel was finally created, I think even without the holocaust Israel would still have likely came to be.
That is true, but it doesn't suit some people's agenda.
