So the world is black and white?
And the US and yourself present the 'white'?

When will you start responding to what posters say, rather than tossing about terms like 'moonbats' and 'anti-war crowd'?

    Have you read Mhz's post:
...Most of the muslim clerics are uneducated and their followers as well.So if you are a good citizen of a good society then you should stop giving those clerics a chance to cause chaos. ...
I guess this isn't worth responding too, because it doesn't fit your image of an "Arab" (as you refered to Mhz earlier), "Islamist" or whatever terms you usually categorise people in?

^^ I have to agree with alot that you say, most of it in fact.

I have to disagree with the you on the black and white / good and evil bit though.

There are shades of gray here, the people who commit attrocities, including 9/11 may not be evil. They indeed carried out an evil act, and may very well be evil (I personaly think they were), but it does not have to be so.

The American marines who alledgedly (sp?) carried out an evil act, I do not believe are evil. they happened to be put into a situation with which they did not know how to cope.

The people who attack the American and British soldiers in Iraq
, I am sure they are not evil. There are good and valid reasons, at least from thier point of view, for their attacks.

And the best way to stop them will be to talk with them and understand them. Not to carry on atacking them, this will only create more attacks from them.

And before you flame me too much, I know it is not as simple as this, but it should form part of the whole strategy.

This little "gem" really epitomizes the problem.

While you "personally" think someone who hijacks an airliner full of people to ram it into a skyscraper is evil, you still want to equivocate the nature of the act!

I don't think much can be said to you which could be meaningful because your cognitive abilities seem severely impaired.

Get this straight moon-bat! The people who planned, financed, trained, and carried out the 9/11 attacks were evil. It's very simple is it not. There can be no moral justification for 9/11. If you think so then you are a hopeless moron like Ward Churchill.

I did write out a thoughtful response yesterday but the server I was using decided to 11kbps on me!

Anyway I missed that statement by Mhz.
I'd say the west is doing much to help in the education process. It's will probably take a generation though. Because we have several generations of hate mongering and ignorance to deal with.
Couple that with the fact that the USA and west are beset with their own issues concerning corruption, power, crime, greed, and so on.

One of the reasons the USA works is we haven't been systematically trying to eradicate the intellectuals and professionals as the many leftist and fascist regimes have done over the years. The US actually produces. The free enterprise system while not perfect does offer opportunities not found in repressive regimes.
To see it all you have to do is open your eyes!

This thread is not the appropriate place to raise the American flag and praise your country, but I can see how this diverts from "War Lovers".

Mr. Earl, I agree with your statement in general about not trying to eradicate the intellectuals and professionals.

But what the USA does is: program them.

Program their thoughts and views through the education process which produces sheep.

The intellectuals and journalists internalize the governments views and values.

As an author I highly respect (that you don't like) here is one example to paraprase.

Journalist Tom Wicker from the New York Times says "nobody tells me what to write. I write what I want to write."

    This, is true.

But if Tom Wicker didn't write what he does actually write he would have never been hired by the NY Times.

There is a very complex and systematic filtering system in America.

Yep, these are good examples of 'war-lovers'.
I mean the caption on the T-shirt, as well as the comment by the poster.

I've read a couple of Coulter's books. She made a lot of historical statements are not just opinions, but opinions that can be proven false based on historical context. She's not an intellectual, but she is a former Lawyer.

She writes in the style she does to sell a lot of books to Americans that are simple.

Her simplicity, slogans, and acerbic "shock-style" works.

    This is why it's dangerous.

Her next book is due out on June 6th.

Shock-style spin doctors entertain the masses.

Sorry, Booners, but I do have a brain, and I dislike war as well as religious fanatics.

"The Liberals always totally ignore the fact that there is another large grouping in the community who are also most emphatic about the undesirability of war -- i.e. war-veterans (or "ex-Diggers" in Australian parlance). And war-veterans are also both overwhelmingly conservative and in favour of military strength and preparedness." (Jon Jay Ray)
