    only in GB

The sickening death of an 18 month old child found with multiple fractures a BROKEN back, and numerous other injuries, was visited 60 yes60 times in six months by the police [ whom arrested the mother on more than one occasion ] but more importantly visited by the welfare people.
Nothing was done and the child died from cruelty of the highest order.

only in the uk can a council spokes woman go on tele and say but we have given out three warnings, however nobody has done anything bad enough to loose thier job and we will learn from this episode.

FF's what needs to go wrong before some one is ever going to be held accountable in this country.

oh nearly forgot only eight years ago the same thing happened to a young girl within the same f==king council.

The problem is that public servants are there to serve and in some cases protect the public. They are paid to do so but invariably forget their responsibilities.

Hate to sound apathetic mate but it is happening in every country and it is a deep seated problem (chip on ones shoulder and laziness).

Sorry that another human life had to be wasted.

I got threatened with Social Services when I took my hungover step-daughter to school. And I thought I was doing the right thing.

    It's a fucked up shit-hole of a country.

Try petitioning 10 downing street and all you get are smart arse answers, Social Workers are the same, who was sacked after the Maria Caldwell murder?

A Brick through the Workers window has more effect I think, they know somebody knows where they live.

    Actually not only in UK.

The abuse and murder of infants happen in every country in the world, and in most countries much more than the UK.

It is very tragic and may the infant boy rest in peace and those animals that made his short life such a misery rot in hell, however these incidents will always happen and it is impossible for social services to eradicate this vile behaviour.

There are many children at risk in the UK, some 30,000 I believe, and social services do their best in difficult situations.

It is a kinee jerk reaction to vilify the social workers when the cause of such an abnormal behaviour run much deeper and as part of societies ills are impossible to predict and to eradicate completely.

Maybe they do. Maybe what they're doing IS their best, that's all they've got.

cujo, no disrespect intended, however this is the attitude that is endemic in this place, 'thats all weve got'.

preachers like our mps keep telling us we are the best educated best civilised best multicultural etc etc, when it is blatently obvious we are not.

now if we all faced up to the problems we have, then and only then can we start to rectify.

if this happened in the private sector the place or organisation would be finished.

Well today it was reported that a woman of 21, from Cheetam in Manchester stabbed her two young boys to death, horrific. She's been sectioned.

What is the cause for such a tragic crime, society? mental health? neglegence by social services?

Her children weren't on the child protection register, so we have to look for another cause than the social workers weren't doing their job, but if the kids were on the child protection register, then it would be easier to point the finger at the social services than look at the deeper causes of a heinous crime.

It's a kind of fucked up logic innit, but I'm just trying to show that instead of looking at the crime the media just want a quick and easy scapegoat and the public want a target to vent their fury on.

Nuff said, it's a fucked up society.
