Ah, and here I thought you asked because you were interested in what real life is like . . . and the throw-away one-liner with no substance is so very typical of you.

Can't be a good businessman? If you say so, Jet.

I admit to not being able to retire at 39 like you, but I have a family to support and care for so my wife and I try to plan for the future. It kind of works that way if you have dependents.

My ego is very small, Jet. If you don't want to engage in discussion then don't ask questions. Simple.

I admire your wife. Dispenses legal advice at the wat? Very nice. I hope she is a real lawyer.
Just from reading your posts, I know your ego is big enough to accommodate a jumbo jet with extra bar room for your uncultured ozzer friends.

Again, I find it funny that you speak of other's large egos . . . as you would be a sperm-whale i the land of big mouths.

I doubt whether we have heard the last of her.

    I like Palin, she's alive.

She'll probably be a Playboy centrefold in January, or Bill Clinton's next wife. She won't be spending the rest of her life telling people how she was nearly Vice president.

Everyone on this Earth is "alive."

Her Couric interview was the end of her career on the national stage.

She is being handled. Not allowed to give any one-on-one interview, and only allowed to give scripted speeches to large crowds of supporters.

    She is an embarrassment.

This past weekend I read most of the Report to the Legislative Council outlining Sarah Palins abuse of power problem (http://download1.legis.state.ak.us/). A lot of the report was repetitive and kept quoting different depositions.
Anyway, I wanted to tell all of you guys; who have ever been through a divorce, that Palin is a vindictive woman and would be a train wreck if she had the powers of Vice President or worse, Presidential powers.
The way Palin went after her former brother-in-law was shocking. She used every means she could to get the brother-in-law fried from his job as a state trooper.
The brother-in-law doesn’t seem to be a saint (tasering an eleven year old). But he was disciplined for all of his misdeeds by the union he was working for/with. He paid his debt.

The real issue here isn’t Palin anyway,…it is McCain’s judgment to pick someone like Palin to be his running mate. He could have picked someone else that would have solidified the republican base,…but he didn’t. It seems as if he was listening to his handlers and that is not too Mavericky.
We don’t need someone else in the White House for the next four years appointing people like Palin (or choosing people like Palin to help McCain run his administration). Remember Bush and who he appointed as head of FEMA (Michael DeWayne Brown, a commissioner for the International Arabian Horse Association)? While New Orleans was drowning/burning both Brownie and Bush were yucking it up. “Brownie you’re doing one heck of a job”. Another Train Wreck (M. Brown)!

To this day (14 damn days before the election) she still doesn’t know!

This Just In: Sarah Palin Still Doesn’t Freaking Know What The Vice President Does

Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”
PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … [T]hey’re [sic] in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they [sic] can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.

I just caught some of her interview with CNN. She is really painful to watch. Her answers to the simplest questions just make me cringe.

Good to see people are taliking about Palin.

Now, who remembers the name of the Democrat nominee?

Palin? Palin is the republican VP nomination?? Fuck me, there was me thinking it was "Joe the plumber". McCain certainly spends more time quoting "joe" than he does Palin!

according to the latest NBC poll, Palin is by far the biggest turn off for the Mcain campaign, way ahead of the economy or similarities to the Bush administration.

it was a dreadful pick, serves them right....apparently they found her by trawling wikipedia for female canditates after lieberman was vetoed.

Indeed. McCain took a crazy gamble, and not something "worthy" of some one seeking to be president.

Sure she fires up the die hard rebublicans - but they were in the bag anyway.

Surely a rhetorical question. Biden is not someone who polarises people, Palin is.

Seems almost a lifetime ago that the right-wingers were claiming that the 'Pitbull with Lipstick' was going to tear Obama a new one and holding her out as the shining beacon of the Republicans.

"ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.
The charges included costs for hotel and commercial flights for three daughters to join Palin to watch their father in a snowmobile race, and a trip to New York, where the governor attended a five-hour conference and stayed with 17-year-old Bristol for five days and four nights in a luxury hotel."

Note* Norton and I posted this at exacly the same time.

A "Maverick?" A "Reformer?" This is an election year. This just another story to throw around. And Palin broke the rules about children and expenses and then ordered the documents to be altered. These are allegations. If proven true, it's just another little knock against her.

    ANCHORAGE, Alaska —

Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.

The charges included costs for hotel and commercial flights for three daughters to join Palin to watch their father in a snowmobile race, and a trip to New York, where the governor attended a five-hour conference and stayed with 17-year-old Bristol for five days and four nights in a luxury hotel.

In all, Palin has charged the state $21,012 for her three daughters' 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights since she took office in December 2006. In some other cases, she has charged the state for hotel rooms for the girls.

....As governor, Palin justified having the state pay for the travel of her daughters - Bristol, 17; Willow, 14; and Piper, 7 - by noting on travel forms that the girls had been invited to attend or participate in events on the governor's schedule.
But some organizers of these events said they were surprised when the Palin children showed up uninvited, or said they agreed to a request by the governor to allow the children to attend.

Several other organizers said the children merely accompanied their mother and did not participate. The trips enabled Palin, whose main state office is in the capital of Juneau, to spend more time with her children.

....On Aug. 6, three weeks before Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain chose Palin his running mate, and after Alaska reporters asked for the records, Palin ordered changes to previously filed expense reports for her daughters' travel.

I'm wondering if she now regrets joining the ticket . . . being placed under such close scrutiny would uncover a lot of things about fairly well everyone.

In her case it is exacerbated because she is using public funds to lead her life . . . and seemingly misusing these funds . . . as well as her position.

She should have thought about this before entering the fray.

But Wait Until You See the Solid Gold Parka

    October 21, 2008

Politico's Jeanne Cummings is reporting that the Republican National Committee "appears to have spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August.

According to financial disclosure records, the accessorizing began in early September and included bills from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York for a combined $49,425.74.

The records also document a couple of big-time shopping trips to Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, including one $75,062.63 spree in early September."

The McCain-Palin campaign didn't comment, but if campaign officials change their minds we shall be happy to update.
