Do you really believe the Russians cooked up this dastardly plan in the heat of the moment? I think there is a simpler answer.
Agreed, the guy on the ground could equally have thought something suspicious was going on by the Ukrainians. No evidence there of surrendered Russians being shot in the back of the head, which would go against the implications of the video.

There are already recorded instances of Russians pretending to surrender and then opening fire during this campaign.

With image manipulation and or propaganda I doubt we will ever know the reality.

The dead tell no tales and if they were indeed surrendering men executed a war crime which the criminals are unlikley to won up to.
In the heat of battle esp unexpected fire tragic errors and or deliberate misdeeds occur.

Of cours none of these tragic events nor millions of refugees, lives , families , homes, businesses, farms , studies shattered because of Putin's evil

He is brutalising domestic protestors and sending disproportionate conscripts for poorer minority errors.

It is as if sent poor African Americans who didn't know how to dodge the draft o know shit from Shinola to fight for Uncle Sam in Nam?

However aside from Kent State USA allowed protest and some fled to Canada as Russians fled to Georgia to dodge the draft.

The big prize after Ukraine wins must be to liberate the Russian people before the Chinese Tongzhi have them for lunch

If you watch the video, all of the Russians look like they are wearing black when they are in the shadow of the building's overhang. When they come out into the sunlight you can see that they are actually wearing green uniforms. There is no reason to think that the shooter wasn't wearing a uniform as well.

You are a moron so determined to blame the Ukrainians that you are devoid of common sense or rational logic. Typical of you spittle spewing Putin worshipers. The reality...

    My take...

Ukrainian forces approach a building containg Russians.
    Russians begin to surrender.
One Russian, a second before turns his head and looks back at the position of the shooter.
The shooter pops out from the exact same location the surrendering Russians came out of and opens fire.
    Ukrainians return fire.

This was a clear instance of perfidy by the Russians, which is in and of itself a war crime.

    Your take...

It was a ninja in black pajamas.
There was a Ukrainian in the building that the surrendering Russians came out of, and he popped out to shoot other fellow Ukrainians.

What a complete imbecile you are.

Caitlin Johnstone: Ukraine as Weapons Testing Site

In addition to advancing longstanding U.S. geo-strategic aims, it seems the proxy war in Ukraine is also being used to sharpen the imperial war machine’s claws for a looming hot war with China and/or Russia.

A surprisingly frank article in The New York Times, “Western Allies Look to Ukraine as a Testing Ground for Weapons” describes how the imperial war machine is capitalising on the U.S. proxy war to test its weapons for future use.

“Ukraine has become a testing ground for state-of-the-art weapons and information systems, and new ways to use them, that Western political officials and military commanders predict could shape warfare for generations to come,” writes Lara Jakes.

Jakes says “new advances in technology and training in Ukraine are being closely monitored for the ways they are changing the face of the fight.”

These new technological advancements include an information system known as Delta, as well as “remote-controlled boats, anti-drone weapons known as SkyWipers and an updated version of an air-defense system built in Germany that the German military itself has yet to use.”

A former Lithuanian president is quoted as saying, “We’re learning in Ukraine how to fight, and we’re learning how to use our NATO equipment,” adding, “It is shameful for me because Ukrainians are paying with their lives for these exercises for us.”

At some point The New York Times article was re-headlined, going from “Western Allies Look to Ukraine as a Testing Ground for Weapons” to the slightly less obvious “For Western Weapons, the Ukraine War Is a Beta Test.”

News that the West is using Ukraine to test weapons systems for future wars aligns with recent comments by the commander of the U.S. nuclear arsenal that the proxy war is a test run for a much bigger conflict that’s on its way.

“This Ukraine crisis that we’re in right now, this is just the warmup,” U.S. STRATCOM head Charles Richard told a naval conference earlier this month. “The big one is coming. And it isn’t going to be very long before we’re going to get tested in ways that we haven’t been tested [in] a long time.”

So in addition to being used to , apparently this war is also being used to sharpen the imperial war machine’s claws for a looming hot war with China and/or Russia. The U.S. would certainly have an advantage in military test runs over the years in such a conflict.

As an aside, it’s probably worth noting that all the testing of new Western weapons technology would likely explain reports from Ukrainian astronomers that the skies over Kiev have been “swarming with unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”

The aforementioned New York Times article quotes Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov as saying that the weapons testing he’s seen has convinced him that “the wars of the future will be about maximum drones and minimal humans.”

One of the many reasons the U.S. and its complex network of allies, partners and assets are always fighting so many wars is because new weapons technology needs to be tested in battle before it can be deemed effective.

What this means in practice is using human bodies as test subjects, the way a scientist uses laboratory rats or guinea pigs.

The U.S.-centralized empire pretends to care about Ukrainian lives, but in reality it only cares about them to the extent that a researcher cares about his lab rats. And for exactly the same reason.

What could be more sinister than that? Well, the agendas for which they are running those tests as preparation, I suppose.

America could have a "hot war" with Russia if they chose to do so. Yet they don't. They actually are currently trying to avoid it. The ball is in Putins court on that one.

What is it with your favorite poet blogger's hatred of her home country? Did American men she rogered not give her a call back? Is that what happened to you too?

I really don't want us to get into a war with our dominant trade partner. I've seen modern America, no thank you. Much nicer here. Go fight yer own wars. Justify it to your own people. Waste your own peoples schools and hospitals on expensive ways to kill people.

Russia demands condemnation of Ukraine over execution of POWs

    • Moscow demands that international organizations condemn Ukraine's execution of nearly a dozen Russian prisoners of war, in violation of the Geneva Convention.

Moscow demands that international organizations condemn the execution of Russian prisoners of war at the hands of the Kiev authorities and calls for a thorough investigation into the incident, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"We demand from international organizations to condemn this egregious crime, to conduct a thorough investigation of it," she said in a statement.

According to Zakharova, the West ignored evidence of Kiev's crimes against Russian military personnel.

"We have repeatedly drawn the attention of the international community to the cruel and inhuman attitude of the Ukrainian side towards the detained Russian servicemen," she underlined.

"The videos regularly distributed by the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine themselves showed murders, torture, abuse, beatings, etc., committed by them," the spokesperson added.

"All this evidence of crimes was ignored by the 'collective West,' which actively supports Kiev in everything. Such approval from the US and European curators makes them accomplices in what the Ukrainian neo-Nazis they foster are doing," she further noted.

The Ukrainian armed forces executed more than 10 Russian prisoners of war, shooting them in the head at point blank, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday, noting that this was a crime that can't be presented as a "tragic exception".

"The intentional and methodical killing of more than ten immobilized Russian servicemen by the UAF degenerates with shots in the head at point blank cannot be presented as a 'tragic exception'," the ministry said.

Russia underlined that the Ukrainian armed forces habitually brutally kill Russian prisoners of war, which is outright ignored by the West, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The ministry stressed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his "henchmen" would have to answer before the court of history and the people of Russia for each and every tortured and killed Russian prisoner of war, the ministry added.

This is not the first violation toward Moscow this week, as a representative of the emergency services of the Kherson region said Thursday that Ukraine's forces were carrying out punitive measures in public as a demonstrative means of punishment against residents of Kherson for their support of Russia.

According to the Kherson official, the punitive measures, which included execution, are being carried out by the Ukrainian security forces under the leadership of western advisers. The main targets are pro-Russian activists who were unable to withdraw back with the Russian forces to the left bank of the Dnieper River.

This comes after Russia's Defense Ministry announced last week the complete withdrawal of Russian troops and equipment from the right bank of the Dnieper River, Kherson, as Moscow noted that there will be a need to build defenses on the left bank. Soon after, Ukrainian forces entered Kherson.

Zakhorva pledged that all those involved in the execution of Russian prisoners would be identified. "No one will escape retribution."

    Russia ombudswoman urges condemnation

Russian ombudswoman Tatyana Moskalkova said she had addressed the secretary general of the Council of Europe, the director of the OSCE/ODIHR, and the head of the Council of Europe committee, demanding they condemn the execution of Russian prisoners by the Ukrainian military.

"I consider it necessary to conduct a thorough investigation of this crime," Moskalkova stressed.

She revealed that she addressed the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, the Director of the OSCE ODIHR, the UN Special Commission expert, and the head of the Council of Europe anti-torture Committee (CPT), demanding they "condemn these actions and within the framework of powers to demand an investigation of the crimes committed and punishment of those responsible."

Furthermore, Moskalkova underlined that no words could express the pain and bitterness of what they saw. Moskalkova also called it a crime against humanity.
