    From 62% in Dec 2021 to 82% Apr 2022.

Do you approve of the activities of Vladimir Putin as the president (prime minister) of Russia?

"In April 2022, over 80 percent of Russians approved of activities of the Russian president Vladimir Putin. The popularity level saw an increase during the Russian invasion of Ukraine that started at the end of February 2022. During the COVID-19 lockdown in the spring of 2020, the rating declined, before increasing again in the late summer of that year."

^ Presumably, the difference in opinion between Russians within Russia, and those outside Russia.

The Difference is largely based on the information they are given and information to which they have access.

    The Editorial Board

The War in Ukraine Is Getting Complicated, and America Isn’t Ready

    May 19, 2022

"Recent bellicose statements from Washington — President Biden’s assertion that Mr. Putin “cannot remain in power,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s comment that Russia must be “weakened” and the pledge by the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, that the United States would support Ukraine “until victory is won” — may be rousing proclamations of support, but they do not bring negotiations any closer.

In the end, it is the Ukrainians who must make the hard decisions: They are the ones fighting, dying and losing their homes to Russian aggression, and it is they who must decide what an end to the war might look like. If the conflict does lead to real negotiations, it will be Ukrainian leaders who will have to make the painful territorial decisions that any compromise will demand.
    ...
[A]s the war continues, Mr. Biden should also make clear to President Volodymyr Zelensky and his people that there is a limit to how far the United States and NATO will go to confront Russia, and limits to the arms, money and political support they can muster. It is imperative that the Ukrainian government’s decisions be based on a realistic assessment of its means and how much more destruction Ukraine can sustain.

Confronting this reality may be painful, but it is not appeasement. This is what governments are duty bound to do, not chase after an illusory “win.” Russia will be feeling the pain of isolation and debilitating economic sanctions for years to come, and Mr. Putin will go down in history as a butcher. The challenge now is to shake off the euphoria, stop the taunting and focus on defining and completing the mission. America’s support for Ukraine is a test of its place in the world in the 21st century, and Mr. Biden has an opportunity and an obligation to help define what that will be."

^^ I only watched the first bit, but I don't understand his analysis.

He keeps going on about it being a 'bolt action rifle', but looking at that scope it looks more like a low cost sniper rifle.

It was a bolt action rifle, and most sniper rifles are bolt action due to the fact that they have higher accuracy. The problem he had was that the soldier should have had a secondary assault rifle to use in close quarters. But his main complaint was the soldier pointing the barrel in the direction of his fellow soldiers. That is something that in western armies is strictly forbidden and quickly addressed. When one is moving, the barrel should never rake past your fellow soldiers. Too bad you clicked it off, you missed the good parts of the video.

    Not really.

People in Russia are scared to speak the truth. Not only is it illegal, but it might get them killed.

Suspicious fire breaks out at Russian aerospace institute that develops fighter jets and rockets in latest blaze to hit the country amid fears of Ukrainian saboteur campaign

Firefighters were today battling a blaze at a major Russian aerospace institute.

The blaze with thick black smoke was at the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute in Zhukovsky, a facility involved in research on Russian warplanes.
The inferno seen on videos is the latest at strategic Russian sites during the war with Ukraine with suspicions that some may be sabotage.

The fire began at a power substation supplying the institute, 43 miles southeast of Moscow, which has been crucial to the development of aircraft such as the Su-27, MiG-29, and MiG-31 fighters as well as various rockets.

And the UK is using Russian rockets during the war.

I understand that almost everyone else on the board has a abandoned this shit thread, and I understand why it is just a propaganda dumping ground for the Three Stooges, but I do enjoy exposing their lies and making them squirm. It really triggers them.

That's almost ancient, from the early days of Russias agression. By now One Web has booked the launches with SpaceX.
