US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm has tweeted that she spoke to Ukraine’s energy minister about the fire at the Zaporizhzhia plant and has decided to activate the US Nuclear Incident Response Team.
"Russian military operations near the plant are reckless and must cease," said Granholm, who oversees the US nuclear arsenal.
"The plant’s reactors are protected by robust containment structures and reactors are being safely shut down."

    ^ that was excellent.

Seemingly un-biased, giving good background without the usual bla bla.

And the 'Economy' bit was also excellent.

    Non partisan???
You are foolish young boy, and the statement in your new avatar is really ironic.
No mention of the economy? We’re you listening to the radio while watching the vid and rubbing your hands with glee. All your current and future videos should be re-titled; “More pointless and biased shite found by the idiot who stole Backspin’s login”.

"The growth rate of real gross domestic product (GDP) is a key indicator of economic activity, but the official estimate is released with a delay.

Our GDPNow forecasting model provides a "nowcast" of the official estimate prior to its release by estimating GDP growth using a methodology similar to the one used by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

GDPNow is not an official forecast of the Atlanta Fed. Rather, it is best viewed as a running estimate of real GDP growth based on available economic data for the current measured quarter. There are no subjective adjustments made to GDPNow—the estimate is based solely on the mathematical results of the model
    Latest estimate: 0.0 percent — March 1, 2022

The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the first quarter of 2022 is 0.0 percent on March 1, down from 0.6 percent on February 25.

After recent data releases from the US Census Bureau and the Institute for Supply Management, an increase in the nowcast in first-quarter real personal consumption expenditures growth from 1.6 percent to 2.3 percent was more than offset by a decline in the nowcast of the contribution of net exports to first-quarter real GDP growth from -0.10 percentage points to -0.94 percentage points."

This Russian General got smoked by a Ukrainian sniper

Fuck you skiddy you dimwitted fucktard.

    Ukraine war mega thread-andrey-sukhovetsky-feature-1068x623-jpg

A high-ranking Russian general has been killed during fighting in Ukraine, in what experts say will be a bitter blow for Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Andrei Sukhovetsky was the commanding general of the Russian 7th Airborne Division and a deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army, and by far the most senior Russian figure to have died in the conflict so far.

A military source said Maj Gen Sukhovetsky had been killed by a sniper.

Mr Putin confirmed that a general had been killed in a speech updating the Russian people on the progress of the conflict, eight days into the deadly invasion.

Maj Gen Sukhovetsky’s death, which was confirmed by a local officers’ organisation in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia, will be seen as another sign Mr Putin’s war effort is not going to plan.

The economy bit is good for a laugh. He says that Russia's economy is the size of Spain. This universal delusion by educated people is a huge reason why this war even started. There are people in the Nato bureaucracy who really believe that Russia's economy is the size of Spain. Hence why they thought they could get away with pushing Nato in Ukraine.

Fire extinguished at key Ukrainian nuclear plant

A massive blaze hit Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant’s training facility on Thursday

    4 Mar, 2022 06:41

    "
Firefighters have successfully extinguished a massive fire at the six-reactor Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar, southwestern Ukraine, local emergency services announced early on Friday.
“At 6:20 [local time], the fire in the training facility of Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar was extinguished. There are no victims and casualties,” reported the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on their official Facebook page. "

Russian MOD responds to Zaporozhskaya nuclear power station incident

The Russian military says Kiev staged “a horrible provocation”

    4 Mar, 2022 11:23

"The spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, issued an official statement on Friday morning concerning the shootout and fire that had occurred at Ukraine’s Zaporozhskaya nuclear power plant earlier the same day.“Last night, an attempt to carry out a horrible provocation was made by Kiev’s nationalist regime on the area surrounding the station,” he announced, claiming the Russian troops patrolling the territory had been attacked by a Ukrainian sabotage group.

According to the spokesman, the Ukrainian forces had attacked Russian soldiers at about 2am local time, opening heavy fire from the training facility next to the power station in order to “provoke a retaliatory strike on the building.”

The Russian patrol had neutralized the group’s firing points, but the saboteurs had then set fire to the training facility as they retreated, Konashenkov said. The blaze was put out by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service’s firefighters. “At the moment of provocation, no staff members were at the facility,” he noted.
In response to the Russian Ministry of Defense’s statement, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky denied the provocation claims and accused Russian forces of having staged the attack.

The mayor of the nearby town of Energodar had originally reported that the fire had been caused by Russian shelling, and that the blaze had engulfed the power plant itself, but the emergency services dismissed the latter claim.
It was reported on Monday that the facility had been captured by Russian forces, and that staff were keeping operations going and monitoring radiation levels. The International Atomic Energy Agency has offered assurances that there has been no change in those levels in the wake of the incident."

Western leaders react to Ukraine nuclear plant incident

The US and UK leaders have condemned the ‘Russian attack’ alleged by Kiev.

    4 Mar, 2022 05:24

"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has informed the US and UK leaders of an incident at the country’s largest nuclear facility, accusing Russian forces of shelling, causing a fire and triggering fears of a meltdown.
The White House confirmed that President Joe Biden had been in touch with his Ukrainian counterpart late on Thursday night, noting that he was updated on the situation at the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant following the fire incident. It added that Biden was also in touch with the US National Nuclear Security Administration, an agency of the Energy Department.'

Russia and Ukraine agree on civilian humanitarian corridors

Ukraine has not achieved the other goals it sought, however, Kiev revealed

    3 Mar, 2022 18:01

"During the second round of talks in Belarus on Thursday, Moscow and Kiev agreed on mechanisms to establish routes via which to evacuate civilians from combat zones in Ukraine.“The parties have reached an understanding on the joint establishment of humanitarian corridors with a temporary ceasefire. Russia and Ukraine will soon create channels of communication and cooperation to organize these corridors,” Ukrainian presidential aide Mikhail Podolyak said.

The head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky confirmed the development, stating that the two sides had solved the “main issue” of saving the lives of civilians. The negotiators also found common ground on other outstanding matters, namely military and humanitarian issues, and future political reconciliation, he added.

The Ukrainian side said it had not achieved the results it had been expecting from the negotiations, however. The next round of talks is expected to be held in the near future, it added, without elaborating on the time or location."
