I don't mind the name Shitman, as I feel it is more an affectionate term & not really meant to be insulting. Digs such as 'they pay your dole' are & when followed by 'I should green you for that' & such are compounded into bigger insults.

Posting a single laughing smiley instead of a slogan is a step up for Robski & it should have been allowed to stand, also.

This issue was on the News at Ten last night & again in the papers this morning. This is an issue worthy of discussion but it is painfuly obvious to me that because I - personally - have raised it, all discussion has gone out the window in favour of some kind of take the piss out of Shitman competition, with extra back-slapping greens given out between the Elites (not my words) for who creates the most amusement between themselves.

There are a bunch of girls who drink in my local who behave in a similar fashion. They are known as the Witches Cauldren & their only enjoyment comes from sitting there bitching about the prettier girls & making them feel uncomfortable in the pub using a variety of moody tactics, so I know where you're coming from & I do understand what it's all about, as much as I can relate to a bunch of girl's way of thinking.

At least one or two posters - it might've been just the one, actually - had the decency to point this out, though I fear because they are not part of the Elite their opinion will go largely ignored.

Somebody on Thai Visa. I never go over there normally but somebody posted a link on here & I followed it. There was a discussion on who's who on TD & there were references to the Elite Half Dozen, meaning a gang of posters over here.

I started the thread by cut & pasting the numbers, AR. Just the numbers. Nothing else has been cut & paste.

Simple economics? Big deal? Tell it to the guy who invested his thousands in vending machines (he is a really nice guy, too - salt of the earth) & now has them for sale in the paper for next to nothing so he can pay his rents & provide a roof for his family.

He'll be looking for a new job soon & he'll be lucky to get one.

No sympathy. I used to work in a plant in Liverpool where the only refreshment was coffee from a vending machine. Disgusting. After a while I brought a flask to work. Of course I was a heartless immigrant with no thought for the welfare of the vending machine owner or his twelve kids.

It's quite a nice gesture to make the machines available for customers fro free, but you'd have to be English to want to pay for the piss.

So now immigrants are at fault for not buying, everyone has the obligation to put coins into vending machines!
Sounds like fascism to me.

Okay, I understand. Business is business & all that. Still a bit of a shame that these people are too tight to spend 50p on a bar of chocolate or 40p on a brew. As for bringing a flask to work, this isn't a machine plant - it's an insurance office & flasks on desks lower the tone of the whole place.

The bigger issue that people are not getting here is that these lot don't want to spend their money - & aren't contributing to the economy in the way most people say they do. I know the vending machines hardly constitute the economy, but it is very telling of their attitude towards spending a few quid.

Imagine if an immigrant boss at the plant you worked had said to you he doesn't want you doing the same job he's working on because he can't be bothered speaking instructions in English to you. How would you feel?

The worst thing is, the upper management let them do it to keep the peace. Imagine if an English fellow said the same thing - he's be up in front of a disiplinary panel & sacked before his feet touched the floor.

I think you'll find these machines charge 1 pound for a cup of very bad coffee.

I think it's a valid point, that your (the British who rant about immigrants) dole is financed by immigrants tax contributions.
And pointing out the flaws in your arguments isn't over the top, either. If it gets too personal, as in calling you "Shitman", it would have to go, but you said you don't mind this particular word.

I'm not on the fucking dole, so saying I am is an insult.

If you're referng to the Brits who are on the rock 'n roll, I don't think what immigrants contribute to the economy covers the DHSS budget for a month, let alone a year & if you knew a thing about ths you would know that immigrants take out of the system far more than they put in. Who pays to educate their kids, their Dr's appointments, hospital treatment & all that? Not them, I promise you. Most of them work cash-in-hand anyway.

I've got a fair idea but to be sure I'd have to go over to TV, look it up & get back to you & I simply can't be arsed.
