Thread: Cost of Immigration

I'm not interested any more.

I used to view TD as a public forum - similar to a pub - where you can walk in, chat & offer opinion (whether that opinion is right is open to debate - I thought that was the point) with people from all walks of life, but it has become painfully obvious to me that it bears similar qualities to Thai Visa, which I know of only through reading peoples' opinions of on here, where if you're not one of the 'boys' then you count for nothing.

I start an interesting thread like this & we have two-hundred replies from just two or three posters who have done nothing but call me a crackhead, dosser, sponger, 'punter' (whatever that means) & other personal insults - the list is so long I forget the rest of them.

If, for instance, someone like CMN (I'm not bringing him into this before you start) starts a thread on anything at all, you all line up to offer an opinion or share a joke & it's all well & good, but, if I start one (even my Early Doors thread) it is attacked - by you in that instance - & made fun of, then left largely ignored by everyone else.

I enjoy it here, a lot & we've shared some laughs, but I'm fed up with it now. This isn't a hissy fit - this is similar to when you go out for a drink with a group of people who think they are better than you & their conversation contains sly digs to either your life, clothes, job & general snyde comments, designed to make you feel uncomfortable.

I have enough of all that bullshit in my life as it is.

Apples and oranges, forgive the pun. You started a controversial and frankly racist topic with very dodgy "facts". It's hardly surprising that you didn't get much in the way of respect. I thought for a while that you were a bit smarter and this was a major piss take.

Not me. And when he starts a thread in Issues, it's a serious topic up for discourse. He doesn't disparage immigrants or any other minorities, either, as you routinely do.

Not sure what to with this thread, as it keeps drifting to accusing myself and others and general stuff about the forum.
