Top Judge Declares Global Warming a Myth (from CL)

Schools will have to issue a warning before they show pupils Al Gore's controversial film about global warming, a judge indicated yesterday.

The move follows a High Court action by a father who accused the Government of 'brainwashing' children with propaganda by showing it in the classroom. Stewart Dimmock said the former U.S. Vice-President's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, is unfit for schools because it is politically biased and contains serious scientific inaccuracies and 'sentimental mush'.

He wants the video banned after it was distributed with four other short films to 3,500 schools in February. Mr Justice Burton is due to deliver a ruling on the case next week, but yesterday he said he would be saying that Gore's Oscar-winning film does promote 'partisan political views'. This means that teachers will have to warn pupils that there are other opinions on global warming and they should not necessarily accept the views of the film.

He said: 'The result is I will be declaring that, with the guidance as now amended, it will not be unlawful for the film to be shown.'

The outcome marks a partial victory for Mr Dimmock, who had accused the 'New Labour Thought Police' of indoctrinating youngsters by handing out thousands of Climate Change Packs to schools.

Mr Dimmock, a lorry driver from Dover with children aged 11 and 14, said at the outset of the hearing: 'I wish my children to have the best education possible, free from bias and political spin, and Mr Gore's film falls far short of the standard required.'

His solicitor John Day, said yesterday that the Government had been forced to make 'a U-turn', but said it did not go far enough. He said 'no amount of turgid guidance' could change the fact that the film is unfit for consumption in the classroom.

Schools must warn of Gore climate film bias | the Daily Mail

That's one in the eye for the climate change racket.

One in the eye for Gore maybe, though I doubt there's anybody on earth who would be shocked by the notion that a politician might be pushing his own particular agenda. But it's beyond stupid to say that a Judge saying a documentary is biased means that global warming is a myth. Unsurprisingly the article you posted from doesn't say that at all.

Err, he has declared nothing of the sort. Besides which, what difference does it make in any event? You'd rather take direction from a legal ruling than scientific analysis and study!?

    fair enough too.

'I wish my children to have the best education possible, free from bias and political spin, and Mr Gore's film falls far short of the standard required.'

    ^^

Half of the world's scientists say global warming is bollocks. I'll take my direction from them.

The fact a warning has to be displyed before this film is shown puts it right up there with the moon landing hoax video.

If global warming was real the judge wouldn't have to advise that the video is a load of balls.

Trolling accusations are the only argument you have. No evidence - only slogans

A full half you say? I think you should attach a warning to that post that it contains elements of exaggeration and made-up stuff.

So by your rationale the fact that 'Intelligent Design' is taught in some schools without a warning means that it's true. Nice one.

Here, have some more straws to grasp at...

Yeah, so how many of you love F-1? Do you think that's environmentally friendly? We all do things that kick ass on the environment.

Er yeh dunno Chintee try asking some polar bears..
Anyway RL the fact that they are showing the film in schools in the first place says more about the credibility of the film than the judges statement, let's see you argue your way out of that.. LOL

credibility on the film than the judges statement
The judge has integrity where Gore has none.

I would listen to a judge who has all the facts before a business man selling his product.

I would also believe a judge before a business man.
A judge doesn't have his own interests at heart, unlike the owner and directors of the Daily Mail group, who I think you will find have some pretty heavy interests in the kind of activities that Al Gore has pointed to contributing to climate change.
Um... what product is it Al is trying to sell?
Good troll but obvious mate, you should know in England if someone says they are a Daily Mail reader they've basically stopped thinking for themselves a long time ago and their opinions would be disregarded by most. As I say this argument may be better suited to the old duffers on the other channel who only ever get as far as reading the headlines anyway.
    Good luck.

Yeah, but how many Honda waves could you park before the last F-1 clears the flag?

Robski, to suggest disregarding a man's opinion because of a newspaper he reads is arrogant beyond belief. You have only succeeded in demonstrating what I have been saying about this global warming racket for a long time - it is nothing but a class war.

What is the other channel, by the way?

Baldrick, yes I do think it is wise to minimise emmisions, but there are far more pressing dangers facing the planet that this nonsense.

Nope. You can not deny 'global warming' - the globe's average temperature IS rising whether your name is Al Gore, Lily Thai or Shaun Ryder.

The issue is whether we have something to do with it, and if so, how much.

True. Apparently horse show jumping accounts for more fuel oil consumption than F1

Actually...from what I understand, it's the methane gas emissions from the horses asses (grammar?) and the cows that cause all this trouble.
