Whoa! Slow down there!
The Maybot plan goes some way towards the idea of Brexit without destroying the UK economy. She has managed to get a stop on EU migrants (migrants which the UK actually need) and she has managed to keep the UK in the Customs union (which the UK definitely needs). There is a little problem about moving further towards a full Brexit due to the Ireland border but it's not a bad compromise. The only problem is that the UK will be paying to get a worse deal than it has now! It is out of the EU decision making and the UK will have less control than it has now but it is out of the EU in that Farage can stop making a complete dick of himself. The vote was to go. Mays current plan keeps the uk in the eu
It'll require an extension to Article 50 and not be particularly palatable but you can have a second referendum if the government puts the motion forward in Parliament.Quite apart from the fact that you cannot declare a second referendum,
I think you are the one that is confused...
Let's see what Tuesday brings and take it from there. A vote of no confidence is not the answer, nor is a GE. The best way forward is to swallow one's pride but that isn't going to happen. Pride comes before a fall, as they say...
Troy, do yourself a favour and leave him alone. You are trying to argue with a bloke who cannot control a pound of sausages in Gulliver's.
It is utterly shameful that the Tories are using Brexit and the futures of 70 million people as pawns in an internal party power struggle to try and grab the top job. But, hey that internal party power struggle was the only reason they called the referendum in the first place.
The biggest joke is the Tories are seen by many as the party of business and they swept to power on a promise to fix 'Broken Britain', boost the economy, reduce immigration, reduce borrowing, but they've achieved exactly none of those things.
?
They have the top job; the Conservatives are in government.
On the other hand, Labour (who I am a traditional supporter of) have used the entire Brexit process to undermine and try to bring the government down - effectively, they've worked as an EU agent within the British parliament. The SNP have done the same, but their reasons have been clearly stated and their position consistent. Labour have just spent 2 years of snide politics while pretending they'll support Brexit as the will of the British people (their words in their manifesto).
Imagine if Corbyn and his cronies get into power through a general election, it'd be a total disaster.
Cycling should be banned!!!
It's the oppositions job to oppose.
To say this makes Labour effectively an EU agent is the sort of rank twaddle one would expect from The Daily Mail. After all this time Labour is still in a hole because so much of its heartland said yes to BREXIT.
Some posts I read and wonder what on earth its author can think he's been watching. You present no back up for your assertion whatsoever and appear to think that's fine. Labour has basically been stymied by BREXIT, with its biggest hope being that the tories make enough of a mess of it for the country to turn to them.
this is an impasse, if the Torries fookers don't want to take a chance at Brexit and vote for May deal, then it's referendum

It's the opposition's duty to present a viable opposition to the gov. Corbyn is not viable opposition against probably the worst gov in my lifetime, and I say this despite that foobar idiot insisting I support and sing its praises, while accusing me of calling Corbyn a leftie. Compound the two and that's foobar, poor thing.
What Corbyn IS doing right is to give him what he believes is his only chance as leader by resisting whatever May came up with, out of self interest rather than what's best for the country; in this respect sure he sides with the EU, without a revealed plan of his own, and whether or not May colluded to sabotage Brexit. A clusterfcuk! To say this makes Labour effectively an EU agent is the sort of rank twaddle one would expect from The Daily Mail.
What does their leader think, want, say? Might as well guess, because that's the best anyone can do.After all this time Labour is still in a hole because so much of its heartland said yes to BREXIT.
And that's what's happened, a glorious mess spreading division at the highest levels, and Corbyn remains unelectable. Don't you get it??Some posts I read and wonder what on earth its author can think he's been watching. You present no back up for your assertion whatsoever and appear to think that's fine. Labour has basically been stymied by BREXIT, with its biggest hope being that the tories make enough of a mess of it for the country to turn to them.
This takes us back to point 1, a viable opposition to keep the gov on its toes must result in a better overall performance under the threat of a lost election. He is not the one to present that threat.
You could be so far up your own ass in blind support of Labour, that you refuse to accept it's only chance at gaining power is to have a leader that the people might in desperation turn to. And if not now then how much more desperate must they be?
You're turning my comments into what you want to read.
It's called a strawman.
Look at your last quote of me and then your response.
You say 'that's what's happened' and then launch a pile of utter shit based on nothing I've posted.
During normal periods that is so. This is an extraordinary time. Actually labour has been shameful throughout the Brexit process going back to the last election when they gave a huge list of lies as their manifesto - they were simply unable to give (or pay for) everything to everybody as they promised; this was disgraceful politics where they simply had no intent to take government, so just split the nation with inane and endless promises instead. The Conservatives should have invited MPs from other parties to work through the process with them, they should have taken the lead in getting the whole of the UK political space involved and included with Brexit - it has been managed terribly by the Tories. But Corbyn, who I like as somebody who broadens the range of political discussion, has been a terrible leader who is simply unelectable.
This process has shown what a terrible mess out political system is in.
^^Well if you can't see how completely unrelated your 'response' is to my comments then, to be honest, I can't really be arsed.
Your bizarre outburst and buttplug's comical projection pretty much sum this place up.
it was a narrow margin and things have changed,
what are you afraid of ?![]()
