Buttfly, its all good. The budget round is coming up and harmony will reign supreme...i am very much looking forward to this.
as a brit, it is infinitely more satisfying to blame the french.blame the Germans for the rest,
just like we always have been. but the ungrateful bastards have very short memoriesvery sad but we'll always be there for our European friends.
Well we are Christian and always turn the other cheek.
State Aid was the pertinent point and level playing field Lom
What is it you don't understand?
There are international rules for how much and how long a state can subside an enterprise and that is why EU got involved to greenlight it, they don't want a trade deal being hit by sanctions because a member state subsidizing too much. The leveled playing field is within EU, not between EU and outside countries ie Mexico in this case.
Yep and the UK is in the EU so whats your point some fields are more level than others? looks like fratricide to me
what do you mean? you completely fucked up during WW2, on the verge of surrender, couldn't fly planes and beat the Germans, almost lost all your troops in Dunkerque, and when the allies won, you got fucked over by the US financially to the verge of bankruptcy
who needs friends like this to save you? definitely not the Europeans, try to save yourself first if you can
Even DeGaulles who took refuge in London, couldn't stand you after the war
There are numerous examples of where the UK was not allowed to offer state aid such as the UK steel industry and the UK ship building industry resulting in massive amounts of jobs loses and communities being destroyed while the jobs went to Spain, France, Germany, etc (the absurdity of the UK government not being able to prioritize UK ship builders in UK naval contracts, especially when the German top heavy EU is endlessly writing, fundging and acting in self interest to support areas such as the German car industry...). Here's an interesting document detailing how the German carmakers (sometimes calling themselves Europeans, but this is clearly defined from the German carmakers perspective) are massively influencing EU policy makers through high level commissions and working groups:

The EU state intervened (illegally and against their own rules) to force Ireland and Greece to pay back private loans because it would have damaged the central banks ability to keep the German and French banks solvent.
The EU endlessly makes stuff up as it goes along, ignoring which rules it wants to at any given time... It is not a free market, it is a large controlled market; controlled by and for the benefit of a small group of influential groups within that controlled market. For example, even in their own words, if the German car industry does not use the EU to bring about new rules and regulations, they simply are not competitive and will fail en masse...
Cycling should be banned!!!
is that so?you completely fucked up during WW2,
A Frenchman weeps as German soldiers march into Paris, June 14, 1940.
