Spare me. Every other day there is a report about a Trump supporter assaulting muslims, torching mosques etc. Where is your outrage when this kind of shit happens?

I don't agree with it nor condone it.

And I don't get "outraged" by anything. I cannot stand that term. It's on the news.

People are "outraged." Strongly disagree? Yes. Outrage = emotional hysterics.

    Get a life peeps.

Good find ENT. Quite noticeable that nearly all of the denial of free speech events comes from the "left". The only two listed as coming from the "right" would appear to be coming from hard-core religious groups that don't want to hear anybody defend abortion. That seems to be the only issue on with this "right" wished to shut down the debate.

The left don't appear to be willing to hear much of anything except stuff they already believe. They must be terrified of somebody saying things that might make them think twice. Surely they have "safe zones" all set up where all things spoken or written are carefully filtered out so as not to offend them....or cause "triggers"

    What a great learning environment.

Much of England's more genteel society were shocked and offended when Charles Darwin published and lectured on his "Origin of Species" Women covered their ears, people walked out in disgust.

Mr Darwin, you have said we are descended from monkeys, pray say it isn't so....it cannot be so.....

Universities of all places should be willing to open up debate on anything....being as they (faculty and student body) are supposed to be so learned, intelligent, tolerant and open to ideas. Clearly a great many of them do not seem to be what they imagine themselves to be.

The subject is tolerance. It is important to point out that many conservatives are the most tolerant people around. They are tolerant of racism, bigotry, sexism, misogyny and alternate facts. Give yourselves a big round of applause.

The idea that what koman is talking about is anything other than simplistic, Trumpian generalization is ludicrous.

I said 'many' conservatives. If I would have said 'all' conservatives I would have been guilty of a generalization fallacy.

^Other than the facts that according to Berkeley police 1000 people participated in the protest, 100-150 people caused all the violence, there were 2 or 3 injuries, there were no arrests and property damage was estimated at $100K, what other alternative facts would you like to report?

^So that makes it ok that there were only 2-3 injuries and no arrests. How many people does it take to be either arrested or injured...to make it not ok to stop free speech?

    There was one arrest.

Edward Thomas Kuo, a 19-year-old man who is not affiliated with the campus, was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of remaining “in the place of a riot,” according to UCPD spokesperson Sgt. Sabrina Reich.
The question to be answered is why only one?
