I suppose you should take into consideration most of the firearm related homicide in the USA occurs in large urban settings among the ethnic minorities.
Part of the drug gang war, decriminalize the drugs and the gang wars would dissipate.
Treat drug addiction as health issue, not a criminal one, and crime goes down.
