"Members of the Senate Armed Services Committee first viewed the graphic pictures in December. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R., Okla.) then obtained the photos and worked to independently verify and confirm the authenticity of the photos, before providing them exclusively to the Free Beacon.

Inhofe said he hopes the images act as a wake up call to the Obama administration and American people, who largely have been spared from seeing the graphic violence inflicted upon Ukraine by the Russian-backed separatists…

Following publication of this story, serious questions have been raised about the authenticity of some of the photographs provided by Sen. Jim Inhofe (R., Okla.). Several images of the Russian convoys appear to have been taken in 2008, during Russia’s conflict with Georgia. Given the similarities between the earlier images and those provided by the senator’s office, the Washington Free Beacon is investigating further and will update as necessary.

Sen. Inhofe said in a statement: “The Ukrainian parliament members who gave us these photos in print form as if it came directly from a camera really did themselves a disservice. We felt confident to release these photos because the images match the reporting of what is going on in the region. I was furious to learn one of the photos provided now appears to be falsified from an AP photo taken in 2008"

Unfortunately this senator has been willingly or unwillingly duped and voted to send "non-leathal" weapons to arm the current Ukrainian army. Where the arms will end up is still awaited.

Who provided the photos to the Ukrainian government source?

How many US senators now wish they had proper "intelligence", both the stuff allegedly shown here but more importantly a fucking brain.
A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.

A simple reverse image search on google shows the pictures are fake. These Nazi clowns running Ukraine with their Washington backers remind me of the hiSo lads in Thailand; think that just because Daddy has some clout they are untouchable and they can say and do anything and it must be true.

It appears days after the Minsk II agreement was signed off by the participants and now the UNSC. The current Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, is pushing for Minsk III.

He has a few ideas that weren't in the Minsk II agreement and as such is calling for all right minded governments to amend it.

"“We hope that Verkhovna Rada [the Ukrainian parliament] will also support this decision regarding an appeal to the UN and EU on the deployment of a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine,” said Aleksandr Turchinov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine. Turchinov believes peacekeepers should be stationed not only at the “demarcation line” but also along the “uncontrolled” part of the Russian-Ukrainian border, which is now controlled by the self-proclaimed republics. Such deployment will help “observe, and most importantly, to localize the violations, and provide real steps for the peaceful settlement of conflict in Ukraine,” he said."

The existing peacekeepers, the OSCE, are not "reliable" enough for him. He needs the more "agreeable" UN and EU to provide the peacekeepers.

In addition he calls for the new "peacekeepers" should be stationed along the currently "uncontrolled" Russian/Ukrainian border.

No mention of "peacekeepers being stationed along all the other "uncontrolled" boarders or at the currently working international airports held by the Ukrainian government.

The Russian UN Ambassador has rightly replied, "Let's see if Minsk II is viable first".

The OSCE report that, other than the withdrawal/massacre at the current hotspot, the Minsk II agreement is being upheld.

EU police mission? Poroshenko wants peacekeeper presence in Ukraine ? RT News

"Citing OSCE reports, Psaki admitted the clashes continue but the “quantity and intensity has decreased,” and both sides have withdrawn heavy weapons in certain areas as outlined by the Minsk peace plan. “We remain focused on supporting the implementation of this agreement,” she said. "

Meanwhile the White House spokesperson is still at the

stage. It's better than the "We will bomb you back to the stone age " I suppose.

There were reports that Obama secretly asked Henry Kissinger to meet with Putin, a good idea because if anyone in the world can reason with a sleazy, opportunistic, ego-maniacal war criminal, it's Vladimir Putin.

I know, it's quite unashamed... the hardest (and-would-be-funny-if-it-wasn't-true-est) thing to hear is the BBC talking about Russian state broadcaster propaganda - I mean seriously!
That's possibly the most blatently ironic and laughable statement I've heard coming from the BBC on this issue. The BBC is so overtly one-sided in its reporting on this (and so many other issues - take the gentle and sympathetic interview of Jack Straw this morning about the secret filming of him apparently doing cash-for-influence stuff), it is newsworthy initself... yet no media outlet is turning the spotlight onto the BBC and it's reporting... which is strange considering that:
    a. it's meant to be a rival; and
    b. it's coming up for charter renewal (and one where it has more questions to answer than ever before).

The Guardian's hardly going to put their biggest customer on the spot, are they - here's a token gesture to subvert any potential criticism levelled at them:
Is western media coverage of the Ukraine crisis anti-Russian? | World news | The Guardian

I guess the BBC kissed and made up with Straw after this:
Jack Straw accuses 'metropolitan' BBC of 'poor journalism' over estate film - Telegraph

Do we find Russia Today anywhere near as hysterical and blatent in its "spin" here?
?A journalist?s duty is to inform. Have western press forgotten this in Ukraine? ? RT Op-Edge

A thoughtful president trying to save foreigners lives, will his words be used to benefit civilians or twisted to serve the propaganda machine of the western war machine.

It seems the bag of gold supposed to pay for Ukrainians gas supply, delivered non stop for many years as per the agreed contracts, will expire in a few days.

Russia has advised the Ukraine government of the situation and to ensure All their citizens receive ample supply during the bitterly cold winter months ahead, to pay the to agreed contractual arrangement .

Will the responsible Ukrainian department act in time or will thousands of Ukrainian citizens be frozen to death by their inaction?

    http://rt.com/news/235459-putin-gas-ukraine-europe/

    From another "source":

"Putin made the remarks during a meeting with President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to halt gas supplies to Donetsk amid the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe “bear hallmarks of genocide”.

“As if hunger [in Donetsk and Luhansk] was not enough – the OSCE has already stated that the region is experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe – they had their gas supplies cut off. What would you call it? I would say this bears the hallmarks of genocide,” he said during a meeting with President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades.

"Apparently, some responsible leaders of the modern-day Ukraine are unable to understand the importance of humanitarian issues. It seems that the very notion of humanism has been forgotten," he added."

Haven't the crusader coalition gone to war against governments who are even thought to be planning such actions in the past?

The EU's responsible department have responded by publishing an alternative, which if given:

    1. The political go ahead by a number of European and Asian countries,
    2. Passes all it's bureaucratic requirements,
    3. Can guarantee funding,
    4. Can agree on an affordable price,
    5. Can contractually guarantee an oil and gas supplier consortium actually has the energy to sell
    6. Arrange for "friendly" contractors to build it

The pipeline would be ready in 5 years
    - IT IS HOPED.

Outspoken Critic Of Vladimir Putin Shot Dead

Boris Nemtsov, the former Russian deputy prime minister and fierce critic of Vladimir Putin, has died after being shot four times by a passing car in Moscow, officials have confirmed.

The 55-year-old was targeted by an unidentified attacker near the Kremlin during the early hours of Saturday morning - and was shot in the back.

According to colleagues, he was working on a report which apparently included concrete evidence that Russia was directly involved in the separatist movement which erupted in Ukraine last year.

At the time of the attack, Mr Nemtsov was walking along a bridge with a Ukrainian woman, who was uninjured in the shooting. She is now being questioned by police.

A senior opposition politician, Mr Nemtsov was an outspoken detractor of Vladimir Putin's administration - and had planned to attend an "anti-crisis march" through the capital on Sunday.

The economist had said in an interview with Russian media: "Every time I called (my mother), she laments: 'When are you going to stop scolding Putin? He will kill you!'"

Mr Nemtsov served as deputy prime minister in Boris Yeltsin's government

Mr Putin has condemned the death, which he said looked like a "contract killing" - adding that he will personally oversee the investigation into the shooting.

Meanwhile, the White House has demanded that the investigation is "prompt, impartial and transparent".

President Obama, who met Mr Nemtsov in 2009, described him as a "tireless advocate" for the rights of Russian citizens, and cited his work in fighting corruption.

Garry Kasparov, chairman of the Human Rights Foundation, tweeted: "Devastated to hear of the brutal murder of my long-time opposition colleague Boris Nemtsov. Shot four times, once for each child he leaves."

Widely regarded as the greatest chess player of all time, the political activist added: "Politkovskaya was gunned down. MH17 was shot out of the sky. Now Boris is dead. As always, Kremlin will blame opposition, or CIA, whatever."

According to the Financial Times, Mr Nemtsov had wanted to tackle the stagnant wages and soaring inflation that has blighted Russia's economy in recent times - with the rouble collapsing and Western nations imposing sanctions over the government's involvement in the Ukraine crisis.

"They believe that the embargo on imported foods is America's fault, and they were surprised when I told them no, that was not Obama, it was Putin. This is what we need to make people aware of: the crisis, that's Putin," Mr Nemtsov said.

Another strike by the Vlad supporters.......

A leading Russian opposition politician, former Deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov, has been shot dead in Moscow, Russian officials say.

An unidentified attacker shot Mr Nemtsov four times in central Moscow, a source in the law enforcement bodies told Russia's Interfax news agency.

He was reportedly shot near the Kremlin while walking with a woman.
He died just before a march in Moscow against the war in Ukraine which he was actively promoting.

In a recent interview, he had said he feared Russian President Vladimir Putin would have him killed because of his opposition to the war in Ukraine.
Mr Putin has condemned the killing, a Kremlin spokesman told news agencies.
Mr Nemtsov, 55, served as first deputy prime minister under the late President Boris Yeltsin in the 1990s.

He had earned a reputation as an economic reformer while governor of one of Russia's biggest cities, Nizhny Novgorod.
Falling out of favour with Yeltsin's successor, Mr Putin, Mr Nemtsov became an outspoken opposition politician.

Thorbjorn Jagland, secretary general of the Council of Europe, condemned the killing, saying in a tweet: "I am shocked and appalled key opposition leader Boris Nemtsov was shot. Killers must be brought to justice."

    'Putin's aggression'
According to Russian-language news website Meduza, "several people" got out of a car and shot him. He was shot in the back with a pistol from a white car which fled the scene, Interfax's source said.

One of the politician's colleagues in his RPR-Parnassus party, Ilya Yashin, confirmed Mr Nemtsov's death. "Unfortunately I can see the corpse of Boris Nemtsov in front of me now," he was quoted as saying by Russia's lenta.ru news website.

"At the Bolshoy Zamoskvoretsky Bridge. I see the body and lots of police around it."
In his last tweet, Mr Nemtsov sent out an appeal for Russia's divided opposition to unite at an anti-war march he was planning for Sunday.

"If you support stopping Russia's war with Ukraine, if you support stopping Putin's aggression, come to the Spring March in Maryino on 1 March," he wrote.

Speaking earlier this month to Russia's Sobesednik news website, he had spoken of his fears for his own life. "I'm afraid Putin will kill me," he said in the article on 10 February (in Russian).

I believe that he was the one who unleashed the war in the Ukraine," he said. "I couldn't dislike him more." Mr Putin has been widely accused of fomenting the bloody rebellion in east Ukraine - an accusation he denies.

Almost 5,800 people have died and at least 1.25 million have fled their homes, according to the UN.

The Ukrainian government, Western leaders and Nato say there is clear evidence that Russia is helping the rebels with heavy weapons and soldiers.

Independent experts echo that accusation while Moscow denies it, insisting that any Russians serving with the rebels are "volunteers".

A possibly sad lost to the political life in Russia. A tragic loss to his friends and family.

Now the UNSC wants to rewrite the MINSK II agreement.

As the OSCE has said before lets try to get MINSK II, as agreed by the contributors, completed prior to discussing a MINSK III.

ExxonMobil admits $1bn lost from anti-Russia sanctions

"The contracts with Russia’s biggest oil company Rosneft damaged by the West’s anti-Russian sanctions have cost ExxonMobil $1 billion, the company said in its annual report. “In 2014, the European Union and United States imposed sanctions relating to the Russian energy sector. In compliance with the sanctions and all general and specific licenses, prohibited activities involving offshore Russia in the Black Sea, Arctic regions, and onshore western Siberia have been wound down. The Corporation's maximum exposure to loss from these joint ventures as of December 31, 2014, is $1.0 billion,” the report said. "
