it is what it is.
this war was lost before it started, and obama has the intellect to see that and the courage to bring it to an end.
and ending the bush tax bonanza for the rich will only help the families of the people actually serving in iraq.

I did my bit of military service and I have the greatest respect for those serving their country thru military service. But who cares if the dead are cremated at a place that also cremates pets? I don’t see this as a big deal and certainly not shocking.
And yes I would like a tax cut.
Did you read the whole article?
It specifically states the remains of humans and pets were cremated at separate incinerators.
the remains of humans and pets were cremated at separate incinerators at the Delaware crematorium.
"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, it takes religion" - Steven Weinberg
yes i did read the whole article....how do you think the families feel about the sign in front of the crematorium?
support the troops?
end the tax bonanza for the rich, and have a least a modicum of respect for the people you claim to support.
i'm sure you would.....but unfortunately for you obama is more fiscally responsible than that.Originally Posted by Bugs

semper fi, raymond.
^^
Personally I don’t see why the families should care all that much.
The place does cremations of both people and animals - big deal. If it was such a big deal do you think they would still be in business? If folks found it so disrespectful no humans would get cremated there but apparently that is not the case.
The crematorium is not where services are held it is just a place where the bodies are cremated. Sure folks can attend the actual cremation but the cremation is just part of the process, like embalming. And while such processes certainly should be done with respect simply because a place provides it’s services for both humans and animals does not IMHO make it any less respectful.
And IMHO the rich pay their fair share of the taxes already.

as they should.
What we got 'round here boys, is a commie-sympathizer. Income re-distribution anyone?![]()
i don't think they do....especially during a war with no end in sight.Originally Posted by Bugs

Depends what one regards as "fair".
Everybody paying the same amount is regarded as "fair" by some.
Stashing capital off-shore and using every loophole to avoid paying taxes, is regarded as "not fair" by others.![]()
I fail to see how the fact that the super rich pay less tax on their income than the middle classes is fair, in any society.
How is that Commie? If a society has afforded me, through my enterprise, luck, inheritance or whatever, an income that exceeds in one week or one day what the average person earns in one year, why shouldn't I pay my fair share back?
What sort of shallow greed and vanity are we dealing with for any of the super affluent to plead that this situation is right, and proper? If you have to budget, and your fourth house in Aspen, or ranch in Jackson Hole, or Hamptons pad has to be a little less opulent as a result- So What??
Do you think it is any different for the Middle classes?
america has had a lot of wars in its short history.....have there ever been multiple tax cuts during those wars?
i don't think so.

Obama will give tax cuts to the poor, but if they're on welfare anyway, does that mean they get more of the average working Joe's money?
Someone whose income is below the taxable minimum, obviously does not benefit from tax-cuts, nor does (s)he get any more money from those whose taxes have been reduced.
Geeh, try to think before you post.![]()
alzheimer's is getting worse eh old timer? i've answered this question at least three times on the previous page...and this will be the last.Originally Posted by Boon Mee

he'll end the fiasco and bring them home. he'll also put a halt to the obscene tax bonanza the wealthy have been taking advantage for the last few years and some of that money could be used to make sure that soldiers don't get cremated with cats.
this was a nice (albeit ham fisted) attempt at distraction.....why haven't you commented on the crematorium story boon mee? not a single word from you on this....i wonder why.![]()
A Deplorable Bitter Clinger

Bring them home to...higher taxes? Burial in a plywood box in a pauper's grave? Who wants America to be like tax-strapped Europe? I just read Meow's posts in the stars' second homes thread and yep, unlike Flash, he lives in a dismal bedsit in the UK and is unempployed. You gonna get him a job, Ray? He could move to the US.
Businesses create jobs, not the government. Businesses get the economy going coz the people they hire make money and go out and spend it so other people make money. People get wealthy if they have astute business acumen and I believe they deserve their money. The government does not generate cash flow -- it takes it from the people who make it. That is what Obama will do. Big time. Bringing down the financial markets because those bankers make too much money will not help America. It will cripple it as the global markets shift to another centre. What will Obama do if the Chinese, Japanese and other foreign creditors pull out?

govt has to be fiscally responsible. 7 years of tax cuts that primarily benefit the wealthy in the middle of war (with no end in sight) is not only fiscally irresponsible, it's insane. couple that with the fact that all the boomers are going to start lining up for their checks.....and let's not also forget that bush didn't veto a republican spending bill for 6 years so as to not disrupt his (failed) war strategy. the tax cut bonanza has to end.Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon
bush played a very large role in getting america into this mess, and america needs obama to start getting it out.
hey, too bad if you didn't get 'your share' during the last 7 years....because they gravy train is about to come to an end.
and let's not forget that obama said he wouldn't raise cap gains and dividend rates to higher than what reagan had them at.

BAGHDAD (AFP) - More than 1,200 US troops serving in Iraq signed up for extended service in the military to mark America’s national day on Friday.
At least 1,215 troops re-enlisted for periods ranging from two to six years at the ceremony held at the spacious Al-Faw palace of executed dictator Saddam Hussein near Baghdad airport.
General David Petraeus, the head of US-led coalition forces in Iraq, said he was “proud of their decision to re-enlist and help the people of Iraq win their most important battle ... freedom.”
The US military has regularly re-enlisted service members in Iraq but Friday’s swearing-in was one of the largest, the military said"
Hundreds of US troops in Iraq re-enlist for national day - Yahoo! News

^ But were they combat troops ? 1,215 cooks aren't going to make a big difference.
For some the military is their lives - be it in Iraq or back at some base in the US they are in it for the long haul. I know a few myself that are in the shit regularly that have re-upped or will re-up shortly. They joined the military as a life long career choice and time spent in iraq has not changed their perspective.
And it's not just the combat roles that have very high risk factors. Not sure about right now but at various stages 88M (truck driver) was the most dangerous job in the arena. So trying to dismiss the relevancy of folks re-upping simply because they ain't 11B's (grunt) doesn't really hold water.
