Personally I think this is a great looking helmet but the only thing that put me off was the cheap price until I read the reviews. Why is it so cheap here when compared to the US at 600 dollars?
I hope the Shark Evoline 3 Hakka will be available but if not this will be my second choice.
13,900bht at Panda Rider.
Nexx XR1R Carbon helmet - Motorbike Helmet Reviews | MCN
MCN classed it as the best helmet they had worn!
You bullied, you laughed, you lied, you lost!
SNELL ratings are bollocks anyway. The Euro ratings are the only ones that make sense as the SNELL ratings are antiquated like most vehicular tech from the US.Originally Posted by draco888

According to most reviewers ECE is more vigorous anyway.
The shark helmet i had in the states was nothing like the ones they sell here. Mine was made in france. It reminds me of the thai made bikes. I would class all of them as commuter bikes and a couple grades down from western produced bikes. Does the same go for these thai made helmets?
It would be hard for me to buy a shark when top arai, shoei and bell can be had under 15,000 baht. Mind you these are closeouts and you have to be a vigilent shopper... to get a good deal
Make sure that Panda has it listed correctly- there is also a cheaper non-carbon XR1R- give them a call at 02-940-4477 and speak to Khun Siam- he speaks English and knows the products well- that's a good price if it's the Carbon model.
I do agree with yankee99, though- for that price I'd definitely go for an Arai or Shoei- there are several other reviews that say the fit-and-finish of the Nexx isn't quite up-to-par- also note the new Shoei line has a fully replaceable interior- unless you crash, it's usually the degradation of the inner pads that cause you to toss a helmet, and with the Shoei system that's not an issue anymore, and helmet life is extended.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Cool- it looks like a nice helmet- I like the matte black look of the carbon weave.
Panda Rider has a ton of nice accessories, and the prices are excellent- they're an authorized dealer for all of it as well, so no issues with bootlegs.
I've been buying quite a few bike accessories lately (mostly from overseas as no one has stuff for my bike locally)- I should start a new thread as this one is mostly for safety gear.![]()
Do you actually ride a bike (or drive a car) or do you just buy accessories for them?Originally Posted by FailSafe
I just buy stuff- I'm supposed to ride/drive as well? Good to know.
My bike is supposed to be done by tomorrow- I'm busy during the week and I can't arrange delivery until next Monday or Tuesday- it's kind of hard to ride a bike that's not in my possession (and my old bikes have been gone for months)- I've got an exhaust, PC-V, levers, brake lines, etc going on- it should be pretty nice once it shows up.
The truck is also getting a sport lid and front bumper installed in the next couple of days, so I'm on the Wave or in the wife's Mitsubishi for the time being at any rate.
Once 2013 is out of the way, I should have plenty of time to play with my toys (I hope...), but I'm kind of busy with work at the moment so for now I'm mostly occupied with modifying them.![]()
^
That's a 'no' then.![]()
Lately it's a big 'NO'- that will change soon enough- I'll post pics hopefully by next Tuesday- I think I'm gonna start a new thread like I mentioned earlier- I got a cool Zumo-specific GPS stem mount today (though I'm still waiting for the actual GPS unit)- if I can't play with my toys, at least I can post about 'em.

You know what's going to happen now don't you?
Truck fresh from the add on shop tows the new trailer to the bike shop to pick up the new customized bike, all your new gear in the back.....
Someone is going to nick the lot..
Probably while you are on the other side of the road taking photos to post here mwhahah....
Well, at least you'd get a good laugh out of it, and that would make it all worth it.
Hopefully I'll get a couple of good riding days in first... and then I'll take the insurance money and start from scratch.![]()
Useful helmet safety rating site.

Can anyone suggest where to look in Bangkok? I've heard about the Dirt shop and also Paddock so we will try them out however any other suggestions are very much appreciated.
Try Panda Rider- they're factory-authorized for everything they sell, and their prices are excellent:

I tried one or two but ended up buying at panda. Good choice of products and good service i thought. It's not too far from Crystal Design Center if you know where that is. Ram intra Ekamai toll way.
I like Panda as well.
