Just a reality check ... this is the Blokes Cookery thread.

Simple, tasty, easy to make and fills the hole.

    The above ticks all 4

    True dat.

At least my mate Dave posted blokes food in the blokes cookery thread. There has been far too much good cooking being posted in this thread. Cut it out lads. This is Blokes Cooking. Dave's only crime is to misname his creation, but he was on topic here.

    Now, where's my Otto.

So to continue my ham and beans saga .....

I picked these out of the garden today..

So had to start with a salad...

Headed over to the crockpot and gave it one final stir. Had been on low for the last 13 hours...

    Time to eat...

Indeed with a slice off the rye loaf. Been unusually wet and chilly of late so the timing was perfect.

David's offering is way too artistic and neat to be bloke food. Cutting holes in bread is gay. It is only okay if a mouse ate through the centre of your bread or it was after removing the mouldy bit. Either way there should be no centre piece to faff around with.

Bread on plate egg fried and slapped on top is more than adequate. The other veggie type stuff is superfluous and should be given to the goat.

    Peel the plastic top off.

    The Blokes' Cookery Thread-img_20190720_212651-jpg

Lift the foil tray out of the plastic cover and garnish with extra pepper.

    The Blokes' Cookery Thread-img_20190720_222321-jpg

Bung in the oven for 55 minutes (+ 35 seconds preparation time).

2Kg Lasagne is enough to fill the gunnels.

Managed to polish off the whole thing in one sitting.

^ That looked good until you went all gay and garnished it. I like the one hour in the oven, time enough for darts or pool down the pub while it's cooking. I reckon you could get away with being a
    few minutes late too.

Does boiling water equate to 'cooking'?

Sure, anything goes in this thread.

    The Blokes' Cookery Thread-20190726_110440-large-jpg

    Boil the water
Add a little of the water into the cup
Slowly pour in the contents of the soup sachet into the cup, spoon stirring as you go to avoid lumps
Slice some shaved ham to add protien
I also add a little milk. Cools the brew a little and adds that little bit of creaminess.
Drop in the diced, triple smoked ham.
I also add a little dried chillie. If only SWMBO would cut the seeds out of the chillies. Was discussed
For a complete meal, add a slice or two of buttered toast or crunch up as croutons.

    ... and Flos your Aunt

Its my chili con carne with pinto beans. Comes out very nice. I can give you the recipe. Easy prep and easy cooking. Longer it cooks on low in the oven the better. I do about 3 hours.
