    A Chinese tourist has claimed to have encountered a human-like 'monster' in a valley in Huairou near Beijing. The man said he and his friends were camping when he spotted the 'creature'. "I walked far away to have a pee, and suddenly saw a monster. I took a few pictures of it, but I am now terrified." It's still not clear whether the pictures are authentic, but one online commenter wrote: "over the weekend I and my friends went to the mountains to take a mini sci-fi film. And when I was having a pee, a person popped up and took pictures of me and shot away."

    Divers rescue an endangered grey nurse shark at Magic Point near Maroubra Beach in Sydney, Australia. The 1.2 metre shark had fishing hooks caught in its mouth which could have caused serious infection and eventual death



    Police were called when a woman in Portland, Oregon returned home from work to find her house had been burgled. When police entered the home to search for a suspect, Portland Police Bureau Officer, Sarah Kerwin (above) noted broken glass on the floors of the basement and a bathroom. Kerwin picked up the cat to make sure it didn't step in the glass. The cat happily climbed onto Kerwin's shoulders and stayed there as police finished searching the house

    Forget banners. Many Japanese fans were waving bright blue garbage bags at the group stage finale against Colombia.
    The Japanese have touched spectators around the world by cleaning up their trash after every match at the World Cup. After their 0-0 draw against Greece last week, fans of the Blue Samurai shrugged off disappointment and cleaned up after themselves inside the stadium following the final whistle. It's a class act that has its roots in Japan's values of being respectful of hosts and protecting the environment.
