I couldn't be happy in your situation, some bint in HK telling me to marry her daughter because it makes HER look bad isn't thinking about anyone but herself, If you do really love her and she feels the same take charge of the situation, get the fuck out of dodge, the problem is that you are living in open veiw of her peers so the simple thing to do is get a little distance. An engagement is a big enough commitment for now, don't be pushed into a wedding. It could ruin everything you and sandra have.

Having thought about it, probably the right thing for us both. I'm the hapless drifter in need of some focus and somebody to love, and no idea what to do next and she's the girl who'd rather hang out with her working girl friends in HK than sit at home bored shitless taking care of her brothers baby and hating it's useless teenage mum.

As for her mum, she seems satisfied - but a bit of distance would be good. The new apartment next week is 10 mins away and I am considering a break on Olangapo beach.
