Hi David, yeah I heard of the Bernard O'Rielly story as a teenager living near Kyogle. Within 15 kilometers of me were at least seven O'Rielly families, all related to him. Have read the story of the rescue a few times, the book is called Green Mountains. Think I still have a copy somewhere. Magic country around there. The mountains in Nan province remind of it. In fact if we had not moved to Nan I suspect I would have drifted back there to retire.

I've never actually stayed at O'Reillys. Visited, but not stayed. I've told the story of Bernard O'Reilly and the wreck of the Stinson
to my Partner and will, when the boys are old enough, to them.

Met his relatives though and the Family run their winery just outside Canungra. https://oreillys.com.au/canungra-valley-vineyards/

A massive Heritage Home moved there from the Darling Downs.

But, just bla bla. Awesome photo of yours!

Back in the day I would have enjoyed being there. Now, first glance of the photo got me giddy.

It's a power supply pylon being built in Anhui Province. It stands at nearly 280 metres high.

Korolev crater, on Mars, is filled with ice. It measures 37.3 miles in diameter, and holds about 528 cubic miles of ice!

As a matter of interest, what's the ownership law on things like this? Could the farmer have selfishly but within legal rights kept the thing for himself? I know I would be tempted to say FO to scientists since they've got plenty to study, and keep it myself, or sell it.

That Machu Picchu shot is not an illusion, either. You can see where vertical is from peoples' stance. You really wouldn't want to have a dickey knee...

Who hasn't tried to walk down from 3,000 m would not know that it is much more tiring than to walk up.

    Amazing picture thread-cf0010_2a-jpg

Especially, when with sandals and just arriving from Thailand (not quite used to climb the mountains).

At the end of the descend, when the muscles are incredibly aching - is better to walk as a crab - backwards...

Downhill uses different muscles. Similar to running. Uphill uses more cardio but running downhill is more taxing on muscles.

No research but I think Treasure trove laws apply to value such as coins, bullion etc with no identifiable owner, so bones should belong to the property owner.

I would probably loan it to a museum or uni, at least they could clean it up and use it for research while the bids come in.
