Top GeoShot 2015: Australia's rock stars revealed - Science - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)A photo featuring the rich colours and curving shape of rocks in Hamersley Range in Western Australia has been awarded the top prize in the 2015 Top GeoShot photographic competition.
The winning photo by the ACT's Craig Burns was one of more than 300 entries in the annual competition, which highlights Australia's unique geology during Earth Science Week.
"Earth science is all around us and makes a significant difference to our everyday lives. This competition aims to raise awareness of our geological heritage and encourages people to consider the importance of geology in our world," Geoscience Australia CEO Dr Chris Pigram said.
