Probably more worrying than a molar that could do with extracting, whatever happened, have found meself drinking big cans of beer every single night as routine without fail over the last few months, and can't seem to stop. 5 cans, 2.5 liters, which no doubt adds up when it's every single night nowadays.

A familiar story... next will be hiring a gardener as you enter the Ya Dong stage when you need that 'hit' while drinking your beer.

Then you will start to reduce the beer intake as your weight increases... but you make up for the shortfall in alcohol by stealing the gardener's Ya Dong from his fridge.

Then you start kidding yourself that replacing the Ya Dong with Johnny Walker is a healthy step to take due to the unknown provenance of the Ya Dong.

Then, in around 10 years time you will start to wake up and sort your shit out!

    I would imagine...

I'm getting there when compared to my previous life.

And I'm only nine and a half years in.

^ The drainage still hasn't been properly tested in my presence.

    I can't wait for a good downpour.

Forty degrees C and the bedroom aircon has thrown a wobbly. I had the aircons cleaned and serviced in January, all set for the hot season. Until now.
Two different aircon people have looked at it. One replaced a sensor, which did nothing. The other said he had no idea.
This is a Daikin box, it has been fine for seven years. The shop that sold it has long gone, the owner built up huge debts then vanished. The Daikin service centre is in Khon Kaen, they charge B600 to visit, plus mileage, so it will be over a grand just to have someone look at it.

^ I've said it before and I'll say it again. Manufactured items, be them aircons, cars, fridges, TVs, ain't shiz compared to what they used to be, even if manufactured 7 years ago, when it comes to quality, plus being overloaded with computers and electrics that means when one little thing goes, and it will, often the whole system it's connected to will need to be replaced. Betty's Triumph fell over and it bent back the gear and brake levers, Indian made. 40 years ago they would have shattered the concrete.

The upside of modern day electronic appliances being crap quality, is that they are cheap and often better to just buy a new one than try to repair.

13,990 baht for an LG 65in 4k UHD TV with an impressive sounding 'α7 AI Processor 4K Gen 8' delivered.

From my experience in Thailand so far, LG-Lucky Goldstar appliances have outlasted Samsung.
Samsung TV x 2, Home Theatre, Refrigerator, Mobile Phone - all kaput.
Bedroom Daikin a/c lasted 12+years n sure could have been fixed before somebody
decided to replace it with a No-sense.

This is deliberate design. It isn't clever, just large corporates thumping their 'green credentials' on the one hand whilst designing built-in obsolescence on the other. It shouldn't be allowed and I for one am pleased to see the EU addressing the right to repair.

I can see that you have already grasped my degree of technical proficiency.

Sadly, it is a bit more complex than that. The internal wall unit seems to work just fine, it receives instructions from the remote and the fan speed and swing functions are all good.
The problem is with the outside unit. When instructed to cool, it might or might not agree. A couple of times I have been up a ladder and thumped the outside box, which might or might not wake it up. The last few nights it has in the end started cooling. I'm not convinced that it is the main board inside, I think it might be mechanical. However, two aircon repairers have looked at it and not identified the problem.
Of course, a 40 degree holiday weekend is the ideal time for this.

I was expecting 10 to 15, one of the reasons for paying a premium.

I saw recently that an electric Ferrari battery replacement in the UK runs about GBP20,000, plus another GBP10,000 for labour. I've heard that the Porsche Taycan can cost nearly the same. There is no DIY option, pay the money or scrap the car. Whereas my lowest spec, 12-year old truck has run up 140K and I fully expect it to be around after I am gone.

I have Daikin Shutree, four units since 2007 and they run as sweet as a nut... I imagine.

To be fair they haven't been used a lot!

I am well up for a few moans today. I used to buy Aura water in Makro, the 500ml size is handy in the night, not too big, not too small and made out of plastic of a sensible thickness rather than the cheap, wafer thin bottles that tend to squirt everywhere if gripped too hard. Lots of hotels use the cheap stuff and many a midnight I have groped for a bottle in the darkness and flooded the floor. (As the bishop said to the actress.)
Aura is no more, at least locally. I now have to buy Aro branded Aura water. Larger bottles, wafer thin and worst of all it tastes different. CP Group strikes again.
I'll need to try some alternative brands.

    ^ Wow... that's terrible.

My usual choice of bottled water is whatever I get for free when buying fuel at the petrol station, or from Sukhumvit hotels.

Then every week I decant water into the empty bottles from the 12 Baht, 20 litre containers we get delivered every month.

^ I may be out of date, I'll ask the gardener tomorrow.

He sorts all this stuff out!

    Before you do another moan!
