I have looked at both (residence and citizenship) and both have a language requirement. I meet all the requirements for residence, except that there is some language requirement that I am not sure I would pass.

The language requirement for Thai citizenship under marriage to a Thai citizen is significantly easier than the requirements for PR. However, I have heard that the Thai government is talking about changing the rules and making it much more difficult to pass the language requirements. So apply now, while it isn't really that difficult.

Sad to say, after 20 plus years here I am not at a level much above "yes" and "no".....

I had looked into this before but resigned the the delusion that I would need 5 years of back to back work permits.

Turns out I qualify to apply, so I'm definitely going to go down and at least start the process and see where it takes me.

A little bit of research has conflicting information about which national anthem needs reciting. Apparently, Sansoen Phra Barami - National Anthem from 1888 - 1932 is required.

Any feedback on that on, Barty? How did you get on with that?
