Just a little update for anyone interested .
Yesterday we had to go to County Hall in Chelmsford Essex for Jan's certificate presentation , you ger to sit in the Council chambers for the presentation , this includes the people recieving their paperwork swearing the oath and pledge , they have to stand individually , identify themselves to everyone and we had to listen to about 30 mins of history all about Essex quite interesting indeed.
The Queens rep for Essex was there plus the Council leader plus some other dignatries , all in all not so bad as I thought it was gonna be .
Now then just an observation ,,,,,,,, ( I have to say it did'nt suprise me ) the day in question was graced by no less than 15 different nationalities and everyone including myself was dressed up in our best whistles ( except one group ) yep you got it in one , our African friends who could muster no more respect for the occasion other than to wear jeans and trainers . Now before we went into the chamber tea and coffee was provided , also the same table was laid out with a lovely spread of food and cakes and fruit for AFTER the event ,, and yes you know don't you , our African ( sorry now UK ) friends piled in before just about cleaning the table . I did point out to one of them the rest of us wer'nt on a diet , but he looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language ,, and probably to him I was![]()
