^^there used to be a restaraunt in Sindhorn (old days) that would set it "special" for lunch at lunch-closing bell. Just about the right time to start doing that again - shame the restaraunt went south at 400![]()

Sure I appreciate your apprehension, and without knowing any specifics of your work or contract I guess there's good enough reason for trading restrictions extending to family, though that may be peculiar to LoS or your position.
That said I know two real high powered UK lawyers with access to serious insider info who make the occasional raid for their own and family coffers both in UK and abroad, and all very much above board. In fact they're so fcuking meticulous that when travelling their wives know they cannot carry more than the 200 duty free cigarette allowance, not even 200 and an open pack.
SET is hot, going well above 800 !!! Keda was wrong again
keda, were you short ?
Many stocks being pitched here got 30% gain
QH paying the 7% dividend I recommended before, traded this week @ 1.61 from 1.30
Check my blog: thaiequity.blogspot.com

What companies offer online trading services?
William showed me a few two years back but I can't remember them.
^ most of them do !!! check the SET website
Must be in Thailand to open account, and need a THB bank account to transfer money to broker

Huh, short? Have you ever tried going short with a Thai broker? Don't, because you'll hit a brick wall with a regular account, which is what I have, wanting no more to do with broker robbers outside of access to online trading.
As to being wrong (again?) because SET breezed through 800, I did expect a correction starting in May and put my money where my mouth is by selling off the week before, but once it became clear the surge was more than a flash in the pan it was business as usual within a couple of days and smooth sailing since.
Also, the rally turned out to a bonus to the stocks I called - because that was done on the expectation of a slide. Sure you know but for those that don't, whether SET goes up or down makes little difference to certain stocks that are technically due for a rise either way, regardless of fundamentals, though if they fit so much the better.
QH was a good call, but in a rising market most anything is going to join the feast. Can't remember all my picks but PTT sticks out because it was a nice round number (200) and aimed at those looking for a slow and steady and as certain a profit as one can expect in the Thai market; now 294 and ftr I dipped in 216 and topped up at 220-226 but will be harvesting shortly.
I repeat the call on EPCO and CSP, which I am heavily into despite so many other good things on offer, but without unlimited funds not everything can be staked. Also ftr, I am not pumping these stocks for my own interests, seeing as TD isn't going to produce the sort of volume to make the slightest impact.![]()
Silence is the usual reply but I'll try again: has anyone actually invested in any stocks called here?
Had a look at your blog...useful advice, doesn't appear to be many comments but will give it a look in and hopefully contribute. Good luck with it.

No surprises, still many good things and if SET can hold 850 the next notable resistance will be close enough to 900 for sentiment to take over and push it beyond.
Despite the rally, another special is TT&T and those still trusting what brokers tell them should keep in mind this one has been touted to the rabble as a definite sell by KimEng, Seamico and several other robbers over the past couple of weeks when it was 1.00-1.05 (now 1.34) and being accumulated by the big boys...they conveniently failed to mention that the stock is in the process of a hijacking by Citigroup and Citigroup has deep pockets...first target 2.20-2.50, low risk.
Still wondering if there's any life out there, and if anyone's actually making wonga out of this thread.
Don't see the point of a new thread with more of the same if no advantage had by anyone so far...
getting too long dude, time to retire it
QH @ 1.77
that's a nice 80% with the dividend if you caught it last year in December
Prolly wasting my time but TT&T closed at 1.51 today, its 40% rise in a couple of weeks is no accident and neither is it running out of steam...there will certainly be profittaking along the way but the direction is up up up and this is the first wave of what will turn out to be - mark my words - a long and profitable rally.
Fcuking hell is there any life out there??
^ it's starting to correct already, I wouldn't be surprise to see big retractions today and Monday
Nope, I still think we'll see 900 before 800.
^ no idea if we will see it this year, you should be the expert on that one![]()
Well I did try and open two account in Thailand about 4 months ago when the price of your recommendation for PTT was 202. I filled out and mailed .pdfs to two brokers but was never contacted or had any response from them so trading in Thailand was overlooked by me. I continue to trade the gold stocks on the Amex Gold Bugs index and am considering a thread based on my endeavours. I notice now that PTT is at 270 and upOriginally Posted by keda

^ that's because you can't open an account by mail in Thailand, may it be broker, or bank, regardless of what they told you over the phone
^ The instructions were that you mailed in the app form and then they contact you to visit local broker office (Khon Kaen for me) to complete the application in person.
The app was mailed to Bangkok and it was obviously too difficult a task for them to liase with thier KK branches to progress my application.
I did'nt have the energy at the time to chase people around to do their jobs because I was planning a trip to the Uk at the time.
One offender was AYS : AYUDHAYA SECURITIES, so this is for you people there![]()
^ you chose one of the worst ones. There area few like that, they don't want to deal with farangs so they ignore you. I had one broker who did the same trick on me, so I went to another, good English and farang friendly, very professional and they had a great online system.
Check the SET website, they have a list. Take the big ones, ENGK etc... they will answer back.
Even as a bank, AYUDHAYA Bank is worthless
^ Thanks, I did use the list on the SET websiteBut I just went for names I was familiar with as I did not have any personal recommendations to go with.
So ENGK are ok you say? Do you use them and does their online system allow direct trades with live quotes?
I checked the list again :The Stock Exchange of Thailand - Know Brokers - List of Brokers
I dont see ENGK on there and cannot find a website for them?

Damn and there was me thinking that farangs and farang money drive the SET forward as demonstated by the correction when the 30% capital farce happened?Originally Posted by Spin
They all use the "official" SETTRADE system, which is the SET central trade clearing system. Very nice. All live quotes, you can see individual bids (3 bid 3 offer), enter the trades directly into the live system, just like a broker. Very neat. 100% better than eTrade.Originally Posted by Spin
ENGK, KGI, BT, DBSV should also have some online system to follow your portfolios and confirm your trades.
Commissions are very cheap, with a minimum of 50 BATH, which is fuck all.
