THat is why I asked here and have searched the website.

My head in my photo on my current passport takes up pretty much the whole page. Which is slighltly different to today where I look handsum.

In the UK if you have changed drastically they require youto get more information and people to sign to say that it is me on the photos.

Since fuck all people know me out here I was wondering if I will need any other sort of documentation.

I alrady have a completed form as well. It just doesn't mention if I change from being a fat bastard to ahandsum fucker on it what should I do.

British Embassy Bangkok: New Biometric British Passports

In February 2006, the British Government launched one of its most important counter-fraud initiatives, the biometric passport.

Full production will be rolled out at the Embassy in Bangkok between 15 and 26 May 2006. While we will do our best to minimise disruption, but is it likely that new passport applications received during this period will take about 15 working days to process. We recommend that you try to defer from applying for a passport during this period if at all possible. We will keep you informed of any changes to the roll out schedule or of any significant delays in the issue of passports during this period.

The use of biometric information to link a person to a passport serves as a dual role. It:
• helps in detecting counterfeit or manipulated documents, and
• confirms the identity of the individual

The facial biometric will be derived from the applicant’s passport photo. We therefore require passport applicants to provide us with good quality photos from which we can capture a facial recognition biometric that meets all internationally agreed standards. This means that you must be looking straight ahead and directly at the camera when your photograph is taken. Passport applications may be delayed if the submitted photos do not meet the requirements of our guidance.

What are biometrics?

Biometrics is the use of technology to read the unique biological features we each have. It represents the most advanced way of verifying an individual’s identity. Examples of biometric identifiers include facial recognition, fingerprints and iris recognition. The biometric data can be scanned and matched against information stored on a chip in for example a card or a passport.

How will facial biometrics work?

Facial recognition will map various features on the face, for example, the distances between eyes, nose, mouth and ears. The measurements will be digitally coded and held on an electronic chip secured in the passport page. This can then be used for comparison and verification purposes. We will be able to derive applicants’ facial biometrics from their passport photos.

What information will be stored on the chip?

The chip will store the passport holder’s digital photo and signature. Other personal details printed on the passport bio-data page will also be stored on the chip. The chip will complement the security features currently inherent in the ‘machine readable zone’ of the passport. The ‘machine readable zone’ will still be needed to ensure immigration desks can continue to use existing readers.

Do I need to upgrade my current passport?

Your current passport will remain valid until its expiry date. You will not need to exchange your passport for a biometric passport, but should apply for a new passport in good time as and when your current passport expires. You should allow 10 working days for a passport application.

Do I need a biometric passport to enter the United States?

On 15 June, the US Department of Homeland Security announced a one-year extension of its Visa Waiver Programme (VWP) to 26 October 2006.

VWP countries, including the UK, are required to have a biometric passport issuing system in place by 26 October 2006, in order to continue as members of the Programme and benefit from visa free travel to the US after that date.

The US also announced a requirement that all new passports issued on or after 26 October 2005, must contain a digital photo image to enable the holder to travel to the USA visa free.

This means that in order to travel under the VWP:
• If you are holding a British Citizen passport, you can enter the US with a machine-readable passport, with or without a digital photo image (since 2003 all UK passports have been issued with digital photographs).
• From 26 October 2006, all passports issued on or after that date must include biometric data. The UK is on course to meet this deadline.

Will the biometric passport be more expensive?

Given the new security features biometric passports will inevitably be more expensive than the current format passport. A child passport will cost £59 and adult passport £91. This is the equivalent to THB 4130 and THB 6370 at the current rate of exchange.

Biometric passports will only be available in 32 page books initially. It is expected that 48 page books will be available in 2007. Therefore, as of 15 May 2006, and until further notice, we will no longer be able to process applications for 48 page passports.

Howver I am not worried about biometrics or how much it costs (6,485B) I am worried about the fact that I used to be a fat bastard and now I am not.

I don;'t want to go to BKK then find out that I need other documentation.

I don't want to call teh embassy since I really don't fance y talking to any monkeys on the phone.

I think it was over a year ago now that I did it AO.
