Why do you take them offline?
Because I do things like turn my computer off and go to work.

Why do you need to take your mail accounts offline in order to do that?

Turning the computer off, would take them offline automatically. Turning it back on would take them back online. There is no need to separately, or independently take your mail offline before turning the computer off.

I would expect Butterfly to not know this, but you...???

I know you find it hard to believe that people do thing different to you Daffy but we do. All this stemmed from me posting about how useful keyboard shortcuts can be. No wonder you and Butterfly keep posting tit for tat bullshit in any thread that has to do with Macs.

More like different to nearly everyone else in the world, or something.... Seriously, hey, if it works for you, and if your way of doing things keeps your OCD happy, then more power to you.

I was trying to point out to you there was no need for all the extra steps that seem to be plaguing you - but it appears there's other things plaguing you.

Which, by all means, I agree -- there's some great tools, and there's many ways keyboard shortcuts can be useful.

    Whatever.

You're the one with overly complex behaviors, instead of a simple task -- I only asked why you specifically felt like engaging in excessively complex behavior, which you could have explained, instead you went off on me.

I am not trying to provoke anything here but I am curious why you need to turn off the computer to go to work?

I have a desktop at home and a laptop that I carry about and the only times I shut them down are when the power runs out due to an extended power cut or a software update needs it or I am going away for a few days.

maybe because they have a tendency to fail to wake up after a while ? or carry a greater risk of failed motherboard or other damaged components when there are in sleep mode ?

in summary, your usual mac failures

    One for your Iphone/pod:

    Radiobox.

Listen to over 30.000 radio stations from RadioBOX Directory, SHOUTcast Radio and Icecast Directory right on your iPhone 3G and iPod Touch!
Internet RadioBOX brings you independent, commercial, local and much more stations from all over the world.

for the exact same reason that I don't leave the TV, cooker, washing machine, hi-fi or anything else electrical running, it doesn't need to be on and wastes electricity

Ignoring for a second that 'sleep mode' uses a negligible amount of electricity (but, hey, every little bit counts), still no reason to need to separately shut down your apps, manually - the Mac will do that for you just fine, by itself, when you activate shutdown -- that's the point.

The great thing about Plex is you can run any application within the HT interface using simply the remote without ever going into the desktop or MacOS X

thanks for the tip, I will download. Now that I have a keyboard, it makes the mini a bit more usable

Transmission is a good app, but why did you bother, considering who did the asking?

He only used it as an opportunity at another backhand.

Def not java. The torrent client choice is a bit limited on a Mac, nothing wrong with Transmission.

With few dependencies and written in C, Transmission has the lowest memory footprint of any BitTorrent client we've seen. It's also the client of choice on low-memory hardware. Imageshack chose Transmission for its BitTorrent farms because the competition requires amounts of memory several times greater than Transmission.
    and

The Mac OS X interface is written in Objective-C and uses Growl notifications and dock badging to keep you informed.

I understand you ain't too bright, Wallalai, per your typical mac user, but would you care to explain how your quote is related to my original question ? or were you reading again between the lines ?
