Is that just for the torrent files or for the actual movies that you download as well? If its a large folder on the desktop that might slow it down a bit.

If the folder contains a large amount of data that might slow things down. Might be better to put the folder in Documents/wherever and make an alias (like a shortcut in Windows) of the folder on the desktop

    The Tab Key

Most people use the tab key pretty often to jump through text boxes etc on a page. Did you know it can tab backwards as well?

All you need to do to tab backwards is hold down the shift key and hit tab.
This should work on Windows as well (I think)

Ive known about this for a while but Ive only started using it over the past month or so.

    https://skitch.com/

Its a screencapture app but it has a built in editor for adding stuff like text, cropping etc. The killer bit is being able to take a screenshot then upload it to your Skitch account (supports Flickr and some others as well) so you can share that image quickly. Its free at the moment but I expect when it comes out of BETA it might change to a subscription/pay for the software.

Great for grabbing stuff and sharing it without much hassle, when youve finished editing just click the Webpost button then the Share button and it takes you to your page with all the URL's for the image.

Skitch is an excellent software, I use it frequently to post screenshots on forums.

Editing the screenshot ans send it as a thumbnail is just a few clics.

    And it's free.

Found a FlashBlocker for Safari the other day. Works the same as the one for Firefox so you can add sites to a whitelist of allowed sites for auto loading etc.

    ClickToFlash

Both ClicktoFlash and AdBlock for Safari are "must have". I use them till my first day on a Mac.

Tanks anyway for the tips, this thread is very useful.

    Here's a good one :

plasq.com - Comic Life Magiq - Your Life in a Comic... Magiq!

They have an iPhone version as well, that makes for some fun creative ways to enhance snapshots.

45$ ... little bit expensive to me.

$5 for the iPhone versions :-)

It may seem 'expensive' at $45, until you realize that other, cheaper, apps claiming 'comic book styles' are essentially crap. Comic Life is simply the best at what it does.

If you're never going to use it, then $45 is expensive. If you have a directed use for it, then it's money well spent.

Pardon the intrusion, but what can it do that I can't achieve with Gimp and/or Corel Painter or the FunHouse apps etc?
