I will keep my BT speakers any day, separate device for separate function

as for the Extender access point with dumb devices (USB/Ethernet/LPT), plenty available for less than 50 USD and doing a more reliable job than apple toys

There are better sure, but as I use an iPhone and ipad it just worked out that way. And it lets you use both as remotes for the pc.

Well, though it runs like crap on windows pc, it hasn't actually broken in 3 odd years, neither has my iPhone, iPad or airport. All of which have been running 24/7

I'd rather use Winamp, ut the seamless integration of the,otherwise too attractive, and I back up my music.

I don't think so, all the things I have do what I want, I don't see any reason to switch to Mac when pcs are such better value.
I used to be a wanker like some and label people mactards or fanboys for using apple kit. Mostly just because of they types of people who used it, and there evangelical nature.
Then after years of Nokia and blackberry I was given an iPhone. It was better for my uses. So I have kept using it.

The op pointed out that this little device allows you to connect up you music collection on a pc to your hifi over bother ethernet and wifi. Now whilst this may be a specialist requirement, for those that want it its useful.

In reply all I can see is a bunch of fanatics screaming out their dogma, whilst failing miserably to find anything else that provides this facility together with the wifi AP/router stuff.

WTF has USB got to do with it? I buy an airport express, any powered speakers I want with the expected 3.5 or optical connection and I am good.
