Clearly the idea is that if you do enough of the latter you don't need to waste time fucking about doing the former. See also: golf.Originally Posted by lom

Oh, about learning the guitar thingy.
Should have started on a basic acoustic and ramped up to the electric later on because it's a lot more forgiving on the fingers and bum notes.
^ I don't do 'bum notes'!
(just turn the gain up and play power chords...)
That's the advanced shit, I'm nowhere near that level.Originally Posted by Bogon

^ fuk me, you're a genius Baldrick, that's my problem right there - I've left me guitar in scat mode. Now, where's the switch???
I've always liked the Cranberries, for obvious reasons...
There really is only one Rock 'n Roll geetar...
Even I might be able to play that...

That's a lot of TAB for not a lot of info. Might be easier to say: C, powerchord if you like or open choird if you like, fast, straight 8ths or 16ths if you wanna sex it up. End.
Cycling should be banned!!!
I think I've fallen in love again. Some folks claim she's rubbish, but I'd let her into the Shifters if Drummer Slaps and LT would accept a 3rd one...
Blimey O Reiley, we might need 4 drummers, and this one's a Cohen... Still, if it was good enough for '66 and '03 then it's good enough for the Shifters!!!
Would it be wrong to add a 5th?
Drumming is where it's at; I never knew. Who wants to buy a 2nd hand geetar?
Korea and drummers, it's topical.
We'll be needing a bigger stage.
WOW, wow, and wow...

Easy version of White Stripes - Fell In Love With A Girl
Good powerchord workout and great song for max overdrive.
Learn the chords this way or try with open chords like the original.
Sound quality of the video is wrecked but lesson is spot on, put on the real version and play along.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
^ thanks, Neo - I'm still totally shite...
So, the missus arrives back yesterday with her 37kgs of luggage and the laptop that I gave her 20,000 baht to buy. But, she didn't bother bringing back any of the stuff I asked her to, including my 6kg practice amp - par for the course, I suppose.
This month, as per usual, I'm fuked for cash (just sent 47,000 baht to Thailand to pay various bills...), but WTF, I've had enough of playing through the little VOX amplug and headphones; total bollox that is.
So, I looked at various cheap, very cheap..., multieffects pedals which I can plug into my Beats Pill to get a nice sound. OK, they are quite cheap and quite crap, but a lot better than my amplug!!!
I just ordered one of these:
It has loads of amps and pedals and a drum machine, etc, but the things I like about it particularly are:
- includes the power supply (so I don't have to faff around buying a compatible one).
- has decent VOX AC30, Fender TWIN Deluxe and Marshall JCM 800) amp versions.
- has a nice compressor.
- has some decent distortions including: EH Big Muff, Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer, BOSS DS-1 and a few Digitech ones.
- has a Fender spring reverb.
- aux in.
- headphone out.
- silly little drum machine, might be fun.
- loads of other stuff.
DigiTech Element | DigiTech Guitar Effects
She will complain when it arrives, but:
Should be good mate... plenty of stuff on there to help you define the Shifters sound. Too soon to start booking venues..?
The drum machine on it should be very useful... certainly not going to get far without playing along to drums. There's a very good Youtube channel that has set drum patterns very good for having a strum to..

^ Thanks, Neo - I'll have a looksee. I've got 3 options for about the same money (a sale on tomorrow only):
Digitech RP155 has battery power and editing sw. A few more effects than the other ones too.
These two are similar to the above, smaller and sexier, easier to use, maybe some sound upgrades, but no editing sw and only dc power. The expression model is similar money, don't really want one now, but may be good down the line if I use it as a pedal - I'll be kinda using it as an amp and playaround desktop toy for now...
The sw on the RP155 looks really good:

Too many fookin buttons and switches
Less is more mate just get a compressor and an amp with overdrive.
Like trying to fly a fooking jetliner...Heh...
I'm slowly getting there, already have the flight sim software.Originally Posted by BaitongBoy

I have one already in Thailand, so I don't wanna just get another (although that HTR1 head is on sale, one day only, at 208,000 won). The digitech will be an amp for now then come together with me Randell later.Originally Posted by Neo
