Thread: Row As Labour Candidate Calls Queen 'Vermin'

A row has erupted after a Labour Party candidate called the Queen a "parasite" and likened her to "vermin".


Not amused: Peter White's comments have been slated by the Tories





Peter White used the Facebook networking site to express his feelings about the monarch to Tory MP Andrew Rosindell.


Mr White is contesting the South Hornchurch council ward in Havering next year.
The former election agent in Romford made his comments as he condemned plans to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.


Mr Rosindell last week presented a bill calling for a national holiday to coincide with the anniversary.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with a public holiday but lets [sic] have one that means something, rather than celebrating vermin.

South Hornchurch is in the constituency of Dagenham and Rainham, currently held by Labour's Jon Cruddas.


Mr White wrote: "What is the point of celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of someone who is born into a position of privilege, she is a parasite and milks this country for everything she can.


"She has more front than Margate asking for extra money from the civil list. Maybe she should sell a couple of her properties.


"Maybe if she wants Buckingham Palace to be maintained from public funds she should open it to the public.

Romford MP Mr Rosindell said he was "disgusted" by Mr White's remarks.


He told Sky News Online: "I think for someone holding a responsible position in the Labour Party to state publicly that the Queen is a parasite and vermin is most outrageous and disgusting.


"He wrote the comments on my Facebook and immediately dozens of people started slating him.


"He tried to justify himself but he quickly removed the post. I think he's gone to ground."


Mr White today appeared to stand by his remarks.


"Maybe you could say I went too far, but that's for other people to judge," he told the London Evening Standard.


"I think that Republicanism is a valid viewpoint and there are plenty of people who agree with me."


A London Labour Party spokesperson said: "Peter White has been summoned to a meeting with key members of the local party and officers from the London Regional Labour Party.


"He will be required to explain his comments and they will consider his future."

I would also call myself a British Republican, but, I actually like Betty. It's her progeny I don't like.

Her family are a bit weird. She's the last of the old school monarchs, well nearly if you get my drift.

No Brit would begrudge the queen a bit of freeloading, she's an old lady, but the rest of the family are taking the piss.

She actually brings in more money to the country, in terms of dumb Merkin tourist Dollars than she actually costs.

like others here, i am no monarchist, but i do like the queen, i think she is a thoroughly decent person, unlike the rest of her awful family.

its very easy for bigmouthed smallbrained politicians ( who are usually the first to grab any opportunities for priveledge and freeloading with both hands ) to take cheap pot shots at her, knowing full well she cannot respond publicly to these insults. she didnt ask to be born into this position and has handled her responsibilities well enough considering the embarassments heaped upon her by her family and the sheltered life she has led.

Have you been to Buck Palace recently? There are crowds of them every day. The Merkins come for all that nonsense. You have to love it - we have found the ultimate theme park which cannot be recreated by them (despite their best efforts of buying London Bridge (and thinking it was Tower Bridge) and creating that horrible theme park). The Queen actually serves no perpose, other than ceremonial duties and income for UK. You gotta love that.

I think they come to see the changing of the guard and all that other tosh. If Queeny disapeared, then presumably so would all the pomp and pageantary? I don't even think the merkins are stupid enough to come see and empty house.

Yes, that is true, I was one of them about 20 years back. Still amazed those red coats can stand at attention for hours at a time like they do. England does have a certain beauty to it, as an American I've always enjoyed going there.

She is an important part of British history and I'm pleased she is still about, she doesn't get in the way of any day to day life of living in the UK, she is not beyond being critisized in public in the strongest possible fashion, she pays taxes just like the rest of the the people and she takes no money from the tax payer, in fact the taxpayer profits from the vast income from the Crown Estate, which owns great chunks of London, including Regent Street. Each monarch signs over these profits to the government in exchange for the much, much smaller Civil List. The family also bring in millions, perhaps billions of pounds in tourism-related revenue that the monarchy helps to pull into the UK

The parasitcal vermin are the thieving MP's who have been helping themselves to taxpayers cash over recent years. His sort who slag off the queen never seem shy to accept royal honors when they come round, not that this twat will be getting any.
