    Plastic chemicals 'feminise boys'

Chemicals in plastics alter the brains of baby boys, making them "more feminine", say US researchers.
Males exposed to high doses in the womb went on to be less likely to play with boys' toys like cars or to join in rough and tumble games, they found.
The University of Rochester team's latest work adds to concerns about the safety of phthalates, found in vinyl flooring and PVC shower curtains.
The findings are reported in the International Journal of Andrology.
    Plastic furniture
Phthalates have the ability to disrupt hormones, and have been banned in toys in the EU for some years.
However, they are still widely used in many different household items, including plastic furniture and packaging.
There are many different types and some mimic the female hormone oestrogen.

Seems to be a very good thing that they have done so as they do seem to be more susceptible to the negative effects to the male hormone in those EU and Asian country's than the the less long time established country's like the USA where there has been a greater mix of immigrant European/Scandinavian/Slavic bloodlines.
One good example of that fact is EN's picture in his AVitar.

I must say that these findings are particularly surprising when you consider that most plastics used TODAY are safe and as certified by the Food and Drugs Association.

Plastics such as ABS, PVC and some other dinosaur and outdated plastic resins have been ear-marked as being unsafe and their use in production has been outlawed in most western countries.

^ You said it all there Loy Toy.."in most western countries" TIT and we get all the crap over here, plus I wouldn't be surprised that China was sending all that crap back to the states..I remember something in the last year or so that said that some of Mattel's toys were covered in Lead paint or something nasty "for the kids" to play with...China taking over the west by poisoning us slowly and eradicating the males poplulace!! A bit far I know but gotta throw something over the top in now and again...

The Chinese are the most polluting country I think at the moment aren't they??? andthey recycle thousands of tons of plastic each year...just look at sony's products..my laptop...80,000 baht...and missing some essential componants!!!! never would've passed Japanese Q&A...that's for sure!!! Yeah, I think China is horrendous for pollution at the moment. I recall seeing the news awhile back on the rise in deformities amongst children. It is a very serious problem...
