By Britain they mean England. Overpopulated and unfriendly, especially the further south east you go. Scotland is a fine place and it's only problem is illegal immigration from you know where.

Poland has some of the prettiest women in Europe, and lots of them. The beer/ale/stout is better in Blighty, though, which is some compensation.

I left the UK 20 something years ago, aged 20 ish. I have visited the place a few times in the intervening years for weddings and funerals etc but nothing i have seen would entice me to move back.

I am now in the happy situation that I have lived more of my life outside of the UK than in it, and I am thankful to have done it. The UK is a shiatty place to live, the UK embassies around the world are utterly crap and I will happily burn my UK passport if I ever get residency in another country.

A worthless shithole with pretensions of grandeur and a few scenic locations. fuk it

We got sucked into the 'free market' of goods and people (so ok - I guess that's Thatcher), but we did it with our eyes open. Now what does Britain have? It has Essex man with his 1998 Ford Escort. Bravo.

It has Nigel Smyth-Cummings in the 'other' Home Counties with his "investment" in out-sourced call centres to India and some local 'real-estate' acquisitions.

all places have their good and bad points depends on what you require .
go to spain and france and you wont get the same healthcare as you got back home.my elderly mum is sufffering dementia and failing health and i thank god she is so well looked after in the UK by the much maligned NHS .her care is superb .

The NHS is free. What do you want, a penthouse suite with each operation?

I can't stand people pulling down the NHS. Living in a foreign country for so many years has made me appreciate it even more. Social healthcare for everyone. It doesn't matter about the colour of your skin or the size of your wallet. No one is left behind (in most cases) and the staff go above and beyond the call of duty.

Don't pull down the NHS, pull down the government that underfunds it!

A contributing factor to obesity in the UK may be the fact that, processed food with the nutritional value of a piece of cardboard is cheap as fuck. Whereas more healthier options are far more expensive. Couple that with the fact that ( I don't know the stats ) the majority of those overweight are from the lower classes, whose education would be a couple of G.C.S.E's at best ( If any at all ) then you have dangerous combinations.

Everyone knows too many chips and burgers will kill you.... When you have no money and it's all you can afford, what you gonna do?

Couldn't agree more. When I had colon cancer, they sorted me out and were excellent in every way. God knows how much that would have cost me in Thailand especially when they have a habit of padding the bill.

I can tell you how much it would cost in the US even with insurance 500,000 US$

My friend from work got colon cancer pretty much ruined his life (the bill not the cancer!) pretty much lost everything including his wife. Be thankful for decent health care.
