Possibly one of the unmanned Predator drones. They are small and really quick. To make a sonic boom it would have to be going something like one mile every five seconds. Down by the Mall in D.C. is a pretty compact area, it looks fast on the camera, but hard to tell the true speed.

What's more probable? Some NSA dick with a UAV looking for terrorists on Inauguration day or Aliens?

If it's a fighter jet it's still an UFO unless it's an F15 in which case it has been identified.

Of course the hard bit is going to be agreeing on what color these aliens are, personly I reckon they are juniper green with bright red and yellow stripes down all 7 sides.
