Utter rubbish imo. It was just apprenticeships renamed. I was on an apprentice (YTS) carpenter and joiner course for three years. I got my qualifications free, plus a work placement. If you were any good, most employers topped up your wages. Once qualified, you could then go and compete against the big boys, and earn good money.
Not reallly alot were only kept on for a short period. I did an apprenticeship whilst there was a lad that joined on the YTS. Needless to say I was paid more than that sucker for the same job and also he was shown the door once course was complete. It's cheap labour. period. You just got caught with it that's all.

Lady Thatcher to be Honored with State Funeral
Great! The sooner the better. Boom tish!

Seriously though, I wonder what her supporters and the proponents of her 'tough economic love' programmes think about this use of tax-payer monies?

It's funny how some Americans have this "romantic" view of a PM, without having to suffer her for years,

another myth and other funny illusions they love to have, like they were living in Disneyland

The majority of the Brits hate her, and rightly so

No 'romance' going on here, B-fly. Just recognizing quality when we see it. The Hildabeast for example would have sorely loved to be looked-upon as Thatcher was but the quality is absent there. Actually, there's nobody currently on the political scene either side of the 'pond' with the cojones Thatcher & Ronnie had...

    ^^^^^^ (bloody connection)
A drop in the ocean compared to the wealth created directly and indirectly by her policies.

Anyway, the government spends tax-payers monies on things far more ludicrous than a state funeral.

I do see problems on the day though. Most Brits have a strong opinion about her.

    Maybe.
He also will be a historical figure. He finally made the Labour party electable again. He dropped many of old Labours dearly held policies that held it back ie. unilateral nuclear disarmament and nationalization.
Before Blair, there was an idealogical difference between the two parties when it came to ownership of the means of wealth creation (large public companies that provided necessary goods and services).
With Blair, the Labour party finally endorsed the free market, the importance of business interests and fiscal responsibility. Basically he nicked the Tory manifesto. He is a self confessed admirer of Margaret Thatcher.

John Major won the 1992 election when he was already leader of the Conservative Party.
Thatcher was ousted as leader of the Conservatives in November 1990.

Ya Know, there is just a whole lot of supposition there,, Just suppose tho that there is no more UK or GB after the mossies take over the country, kill off all the royalty and turn the rest into servants and asslickers, and from the looks of things, it will not be to much longer before they do take over.
so they might just throw her carcas out on the trash heap.

^ typical arrogant know-nothing Brit holligan,

She was outsed by her party, then Major replaced her before the public elected the conservatives again out of fear for change,

    I piss in your ass

Don't flatter yourself, and stop projecting. I might have been wrong about the "island" politics of the funny rosbeef people, but extending this to my disagreement with you and the exposing of your ignorance on these matters is a bit silly,

surely you can do better than that,

have you tried googling Econ 101 ? sounds like you need it
