A gunman burst into a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University this afternoon and opened fire with a shotgun and a handgun, killing four people and wounding more than a dozen others before taking his own life, authorities said.

Sadly that's true, I've read somewhere that some of those shooting events was planed to be filmed and released on youtupe, maybe it's just BS but somebody could be sick enough to do it...

What's the deal with America's angry white males? They comprise only 2% of the world's population. Yet if you look at the world's advanced industrialized countries, this toxic little minority certainly doles out it's share of demented violence (that fact could start a whole new political thread in itself). Except for the Korean student at Virginia Tech, this sort of recreational killing is an angry American white man thing over and over.

I think you nailed it right on the head. This is America's first generation that will have a lower living standard than their parents. Combine that with the sense of entitlement and you have lots of frustration. I'm guessing that this guy wasn't getting laid much either (more frustration). There's something about the prescription drugs, too. SSRI anti-depressants can lead to suicidal behavior. Dr. Peter Breggin ("Toxic Psychiatry") has been warning the public about this for many years. It will be interesting to see what drugs the guy had been treated with.

There is a website that ranks the top 40 spree killers of all time. For a country with 5% of the world's population, the USA does quite admirably.

Here are the rankings from Competitive Spree Killing Organization

Gold Medal - USA, 20 spree killers (my estimate is all white men except for 3)
Silver Medal - Australia, 5 spree killers
Bronze Medal - Japan, 2 spree killers

In fact, out of the top 10, 2 are Koreans, 1 is Jewish and 1 is Japanese. Another 1 is English, 1 is Scottish and 1 is an Aussie.
