Not just Europe. Look at the US situation.
Looks to me it will take some sort of devine intervention to unfuck these divisions. Another world war perhaps? Brings Albert's observation to mind.

Will it be "back to square one"?

From what I hear, people are so disgusted with the elite and their lying politicians, that they'll support anyone but them.

    And the politicians know this.

Downside is that the new bosses will be as corrupt as the old ones

    Might get messy.

The appearence of "exterior enemies" doesn't seem to do the trick, this time around.

About both the UK and French elections.

A very interesting point how a stable UK government could reap the rewards of a French 'government' and economy, in crisis.

In many circonscriptions "Ensemble" pro Macron block supported by Horizon and Beyrou's MOD refused to stand aside and are unlikley to actively support any left bloc eesp if led by Faure Melenchon, Glucksman may be acceptable to some.

I foresee horse trading through teh autumn with Atalli told to eke it out until 2025 when either Macron tries again or with Senate backing legislation is again passed by decree until the Presednetial election.

The underlying economic social , pension and lack of integration of 5 million Muslims and 500,000 Jews remain moot.

When I get back to Paris I will ask thos I know in the know but this is an unprecedented impasse as France doesn't normally do coalitions unlike Ireland, Germany , Denmark and similar mature democracies it is more like USA UK split into irreconcilaible camps, about the only thing that would unify the French would be Russian CONQUERORS walking down tHE Champs Elysee or worse a 'CHEESE STRIKE'
Russia went from being 2nd strongest army in the world to being the 2nd strongest in Ukraine
