Listen baby boomer, what myself and some other well informed people here are trying to say to you and the other boomers commenting on this matter is that what is being legalized is not only marijuana in plant form as you may have once known it, but a whole range of products and strains modified and synthesized to maximize the THC content and narcotic properties.
I'm sure the class of 68 or whatever had a grand old time 'toking reefers' of 'Acapulco Gold' in their apartments with the blinds drawn, candles lit, Joan Baez on the turntable, and talking about what a mean racist Richard Nixon was. That's a laughing stock now, but at least they were passionate in their beliefs and were experiencing something new.
It's different now. What I'm concerned about for the generation younger than me is both the product available and the method of consumption, both of which I believe have addictive elements: USB charged, hand held vaporizer pens loaded with a wide variety of flavored tinctures, waxes, hash oils and keef, and a wide range of edibles. In Colorado they sell hash-infused Jolly Ranchers. In LA and Vegas I already see guys walking around like zombies, hooked on their vape pens. It worries me because in general I don't think it's good for kids to do drugs, and they're making it pretty easy. While I agree that vastly unjust sentences have been given for soft drug offenses, I don't think that most people, The President of the US included, are fully aware of what could be coming.
