One of the problems Teakdoor has had; it has grown by leaps and bounds. I believe the original idea was to have a forum where reality concerning living in Thailand long-term and travelling in Thailand could be discussed using common sense. Hence, the upper half of TD.

However, I think TD also noticed that there are a lot of, let me say different people living in Thailand. People with perhaps social skills that needed a tweak or two and were planning on living here in Thailand for a year or two. Hence the bottom half was born.

Catering to these two markets is both easy and difficult. For the top half, contribute something worthwhile and your good to go. Mods have got it easy in this section. Either it contributes to the main idea or it is crap.

Contribute crap to the bottom half and well, you know the deal. Do the mods make mistakes from time to time? Hell yes. Very often? No.

Which half do you want to spend time in?

That's all very well and grand, but again that depends on who you are.

Some posters get away with more than others whether it be in the so-called 'top half' or not.

That's certainly true and I have only been a member for a couple of weeks.
I've had red repos from a couple of the long termers too. It's as if they want to drive new posters away as soon as they post.

I more or less gave up when it became readily apparent that certain others were allowed to troll threads I started with near impunity though.

Well since you're one of the mods that has advocated for my removal from the forum it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this were to head for MKP.

In fact it was exactly this blinkered bias from mods like you I was referring to in my posts. Now I've done nothing but express my opinion fairly and reasonably - so what bothers you more: my opinion or the fact I actually have one.

Do you have any idea of how few members this forum would have if everyone posted exactly how and where you wanted them too, hillbilly? You might want to consider that ahead of your next self-righteous, patronising lecture on 'halves' and 'social skills'.
