That's a cop out I reckon. DD may control the buttons but it's not as though it's not discussed.

In fact I've been repeatedly told by certain mods that they've recommended I be jailed to DD. It's all done behind TD's version of closed doors though so who really knows what influence it has. It would be fair to say that having mods lobbying for/against you has some effect however.

Kinda. They usually try to avoid having people on a jury that have an expressed like/dislike of the defendant though. Also juries mostly require unaminous verdicts.
