Internet options?

Just moved house a few days ago. Offshore now so the missus is dealing with things such as getting our internet moved to the new house.

I use True internet - I'm told that True can't hook up the new house until September for some reason...

I will need internet before September so what would be my best temporary option? I live in east Pattaya so a 3G dongle is out of the question.

TH GSM 2G not enough? I use it alot and it's only just noticeably slower for general web browsing with no big pictures, sound etc. And yeah DLing torrents etc would takes ages. Cheap as chips too.

I use AIS with their USB air card (this is a dongle?) and both 2G and 3G coverage excellent, though this is Chiang Mai. 2G coverage even way out in the sticks is usually fair to excellent. Same result just with the AIS sim in my phone.

Back hander?... Will need to wait until I'm back home to try that but worth an attempt. Don't know why they give the run-around - setting up and installing internet should be a piece of piss these days. You would think they might be concerned about losing a long-standing customer, but it's Thailand....

GSM 2G? - is that the same as Edge?... have used that before with a USB card. Was hoping there might be some faster portable way come on the scene since I last used Edge, but it's Thailand...

You still in Khao Noi Rawlins ?

True tried the same shit on with me when I moved, infact they told me there was no service in Khao Noi even when presented with the invoices I had been paying for the past 12 months they were adamant they did not provide service in Khao Noi....... I moved 200m up the fookin road and my neighbour has True............cunts.

Anywho my house comes free with ToT and it has been surprisingly good with decent download speeds and only seem to drop out about 1 a month for 30minutes or so in the morning about 7.00am.

^ Moved from Nernplenwan to a village in Khao Noi.... I know what you mean about the customer service just spinning some shite if they don't know the answer... What's the bets somebody else from True was asked I would get a different answer...

Was happy with the True setup - paid a bit extra for the 10Mb connection and it never cut out...

Might look into ToT though - last time I tried them it was a problem because the land line in the house was in a previous tenents name and they wanted ID cards from all and sundry to get it changed...
